Using Waveform Editor as a source monitor

It would be great to be able to use Waveform Editor as a source monitor like in Premiere Pro. Basic functionality is there already, (you can insert selection into a multitrack session) but the interface could be more intuitive to use. Easiest way to implement this would be allowing Audition to have both Editors in separate panels so they could be stacked side by side. Ability to drag and drop a selected portion of the clip from a Waveform Editor to Multitrack Editor would be much faster and more intuitive than just blindly copying stuff from one editor to another. I would also like to be able to do some destructive changes to my audio (like a quick noise reduction process) without ever leaving the multitrack view. Jumping between two different views is extremely distracting and counter-intuitive especially when you're dealing with a huge amount of tracks in Multitrack Editor. Having both editors open side by side would be a much better option in my opinion.

I agree! I think it would also be cool to allow the waveform and multitrack editors to have their separate effects rack so that you can do "permanent" fine-tuning to an audio file whilst not disrupting the entire thing on the multitrack.
