Variable playback speed! Double Speed Is Too Fast

I would also appreciate a more gradual setting for this (and tbh… in Premiere Pro as well)

The disheartening thing about this is that, for all we pay every single year, it feels as though Adobe is more lumbering and tone deaf than they've ever been. And even though such awesome ambassadors like Jason and Terry are out there fighting the good fight and giving great info, they can't compete with not only the ever-improving, much less expensive alternatives, but also the institutional arrogance and ivory tower decision making that's become the hallmark of every rant about the toxic relationship so many of us have with this company.

It really frustrates me how an organization with so many resources and so many brilliant minds can fall behind compared to much smaller, but hungrier and more nimble teams. But, unfortunately, it's all too common. They're too big, there's too much poor communication, inefficiency, redundancy, legacy cruft, and disagreement between various divisions for there to be a singular vision.

The only place there shouldn't have been a singular vision is the new icons, which all look the same. So much for a company all about creativity.

It's like how the real secret McDonald's success was more about real estate than the burgers. Well, process was a factor too, but that's not quite as helpful to my point. Go figure.

Anyway, yeah, playback speed. 🙄

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE GIVE US THE ABILITY FROM PREMIERE TO PLAYBACK AUDIO AT VARIABLE SPEEDS WITH PITCH CORRECTION - IT IS INSANE FOR AN APP THAT IS ABOUT CREATING AUDIO TO NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO SPEED UP AUDIO AND HAVE IT BE USUSABLE - THIS WOULD SAVE ME YEARS OF MY LIFE IF YOU WOULD JUST PORT THIS FEATURE OVER.

As a podcast editor this feels like a must-have. Having the choice of 1.25x and 1.5x would greatly speed up the editing process. The JKL features are great, but more granular control feels like a basic feature Audition really should have.

Need to have 1.1x, 1.2x, 1.3x, 1.4x, 1.5x in order to clean audio for Podcasts faster in Multitrack Mode. You can't have Slow and Evil Speed or Stupid Chipmunk Speed as the only 2 options. There needs to be many more options in between.

Instead of just double speed, allow playback to have a speed like in Premiere so you can understand what someone is saying. Having the same JKL keys and speeds as Premiere or a variable preference setting would be amazing.

Playback speed is limited to just a few speeds. Sometimes they are either too fast. Would love to be able to more accurately control playback speed like some other DAWs allow.

Hi, if you are editing the audio of an Interview it would be great if we could get the functionality of avids jkl edit function. If you press both keys at a time the playback is reduced on the fly. its much intuitive then having to switch between keys. Also if you press j or l twice it speeds up the playback. So you are able to slow down or speed up the playback while editing and it gives you much more precision to edit the content.

This is present in competing products (e.g., Audacity). Allow listening to recorded audio at a customizable speed (125%) without effecting the audio. This speeds up the audio-editing process.

As a professional audio editor with a large roster of clients, moving fast is a must.

Hotkey "L" helps me do this but if we had adjustable playback speed without affecting pitch I think it would help dialog editors around the world do a more accurate job even faster.
