P: Camera Raw checkbox to remove GPS metadata from output files

I often work with RAW files that contain GPS coordinates, but for privacy and wildlife protection reasons I must ensure that exported files (TIFF/JPEG, etc.) do not contain any location data.

Right now, I have to export from Camera Raw and then run a separate step with external tools to strip all GPS tags from the output files. This adds friction to the workflow and introduces the risk of accidentally sharing images that still contain GPS metadata.

I would love to see a simple checkbox in Adobe Camera Raw, for example:
“Remove GPS metadata from output files” (or “Include GPS metadata in output files: On/Off”).

When enabled, Camera Raw would strip all GPS tags when writing the exported file, so no GPS data from the RAW source is carried over into the output image.

This would make it much easier to produce privacy‑safe files directly from Camera Raw, and would be especially valuable for professional users in wildlife photography, journalism, and other sensitive fields where publishing exact locations can be problematic.

Thanks for considering this!

Camera Raw is not really the tool for metadata editing such as this. How do you open your images in Camera Raw? If you are using Bridge then it is easy to remove GPS data there before ever opening in Camera Raw.

I am not using Bridge. I open the image by double clicking on the raw-file which opens up ACR.
I do not want to remove the gps data in the raw files. If I wanted to have no gps data in my raw files I could achieve this by the camera settings.
I think that it would be quite nice to have this option implemented as outlined by my request. Maybe this motivates a bit more: Other Raw-Converts do have this option.

    Thanks for responding!

OK so keep the GPS data in your RAW files. If you were to investigate Bridge as a useful tool, you will see that you can open your images into Camera Raw directly from there then when you have finished editing them, you can export them from Bridge while at the same time removing metadata. Bridge is no more than a sophisticated file browser and has the capability you require. Suggest you investigate this option as it will do exactly what you require.
