P: Hasselblad X1D crop mode support

I am unable to make Lightroom read the Crop Mode (software/user one) that was used when shooting an image. This I know works fine for Canon and Leica products in LR but not with X1D it's just not working.

I have verified that this information is present in the 3FR files and also saved by LR when converted into DNGs.

It's in MakerNoteHasselblad  > Unknown_0x0059

Of course the "workaround" is to use Hasselblad's Phocus software - but as it seems so easy to implement I want to request that it gets looked into.

So based on my research this is how to support the crop modes for Hasselblad X1D cameras:

Download my sample files from:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/j6mge2ahmrwsvyg/X1Dtest.zip?dl=0

Run exiftool in the directory to verify the custom Hasselblad fields for virtual crop:

exiftool -v B00077* | grep Unknown_0x0059
  | | | 23) Unknown_0x0059 = 1 50 100 8272 6200
  | | | 23) Unknown_0x0059 = 2 1086 100 6200 6200
  | | | 23) Unknown_0x0059 = 3 569 100 7233 6200
  | | | 23) Unknown_0x0059 = 4 311 100 7750 6200
  | | | 23) Unknown_0x0059 = 5 174 100 8023 6200
  | | | 23) Unknown_0x0059 = 7 50 276 8272 5848
  | | | 23) Unknown_0x0059 = 8 50 443 8272 5514
  | | | 23) Unknown_0x0059 = 9 802 945 6768 4509
  | | | 23) Unknown_0x0059 = 10 50 873 8272 4653
  | | | 23) Unknown_0x0059 = 11 50 1132 8272 4136
  | | | 23) Unknown_0x0059 = 12 50 1673 8272 3054

Val 1: Preset ID
Val 2: X Horizontal indent (typically 50 pixels)
Val 3: Y Vertical indent (varies a lot based on the
Val 4: Crop area width in pixels
Val 5: Crop area height in pixels

Example the XPan vertical crop is:
1673+3054+1673
[Top margin]+[Cropped image]+[Bottom margin] = 6200px

The first value is the one of the following - (note the 6 isn't used):
1=No Crop (645)
2=1:1 (6x6)
3=7:6 (6x7)
4=5:4 (4x5)
5=11:8,5 (Letter)
6=NOT USED
7=297:210 (A4)
8=3:2 (6x9)
9=3:2 Crop (24x36)
10=16:9 (Screen)
11=2:1 (6x12)
12=65:24 (XPan)

In reality I suggest not to think about those presets unless you can add them to the Crop menu automatically

The simplest implementation would be just to read the Width and Height and the starting point. Users can if they wish - just add those custom crop modes they like to have.

This would allow Hasselblad to keep adding modes if needed and it would be fairly future proof - even for new sensors or cameras.

As those custom fields ARE CURRENTLY COPIED to the DNG files it is quite possible to support this recursively - allowing already imported images to benefit from this fix.

I would be happy to test a prerelease version.

Yes of course. Glad to help. Will assemble a package with all the Crop Modes they offer.

A sample image would be a great help in diagnosing the issue. Is it possible to get one from you?
