P:(Masking) Copy/Paste of Color Range Masking should use sampled color range

I absolutely adore the new masking features, especially the ability to use the AI masking in a batch. One issue I have is that when I use a color range selection for multiple images, the mask on the other images selects the color range from the same position as the main photo, not the color that is picked. While there may be a use for that, it seems like it would be more useful, or at least as useful, to be able to sync the selected color range. For example, I often will mask skin tones, but I have re-select the color range on each image because it gets the color range from the position, and it may select a shirt, sky, etc. Is there a way to do this that I am missing? If not, I feel like this would be a useful feature.

Thank you! Hopefully it's something that can be implemented, because it would be extremely useful from a portrait perspective. Combined with the subject selection, skin tone masks could be created, as well as many other uses!

It happens when I do images that are the same orientation as well. It just so happened they were different in the examples I used.

This is actually a little more complicated than the bug @JohanElzenga  mentions.

I've moved this to the Camera Raw forum and converted it to a feature request (Idea). There are use cases for both preserving or discarding the color range sampled in the Copy image and currently there is a lack of an elegant way to manage these from a customer perspective. I've asked the team to review this post and consider a future enhancement.

AFAIK, this is not expected behavior. If you sync a color range mask, then the color range should remain the same. It should not pick up a new color range from the same sample position. Try resetting the preferences to see if that helps:

Thank you for the reply! I reset the preferences and unfortunately it's doing the same thing. Here is a video of what I am seeing: https://www.dropbox.com/s/a22jyv6jy0qqcrv/LightroomColorMask.mp4?dl=0

You are syncing a mask between a portrait orientation image and a landscape orientation image. I believe there is a bug that does indeed not correctly sync masks between photos with a different orientation.
