Add the ability to activate the element(s) to be made visible when rendering IRay.

Would it be possible to add an extra feature to IRay so that you can check off the element(s) you want to display when rendering?

Because I have a project with different elements in the same place to make variants of it and I'd like to render each element separately but for the moment, everything is displayed one on top of the other.

Hello @Cyril Dellenbach,

Hi @Harald De Luca,

Thanks for the suggestion.

This would indeed be a great addition to Iray and this is in fact something we've already talked about.

For now, some sort of workaround would be to add the Opacity channel (make sure the Shader can have an Opacity map), add a Fill Layer with a mask on the parts where you want to toggle the visibility and set the Opacity to 0.

This way, you'll be able to hide the desired elements by toogling the layer's visibility.

This workaround isn't perfect and some artifacts may appear depending on the project. If you have a Creative Cloud version, you can also send your meshes to Substance 3D Stager (File > Send to > Send to Substance 3D Stager).

Best regards,
