Have a katana style scenegraph for handling geometry

Hi, I propose adding a scene graph similar to how the scene graph in katana works. Where one could see and select geometry but also hide geo when it does not need to be viewed.

The shaders are linked to Texture sets (one shader for one Texture set). Considering the Texture sets are defined by a Material ID, which currently can't be builded in Substance Painter, unfortunately no, you can't directly apply shaders on specific geo.

Is there a way to to select geo in substance painter and assign a new shader to that object ? It would be more efficient if you could do that directly in substance painter rather than having to jump back and forth between applications. Especially if your models does not start life in an application where you can assign a shader to it.

    Hi Matthew,

    Thanks for the suggestion.

Currently, the equivalent of the scene graph would be the Texture Set List, considering this is a texturing application, I think it's relevant to keep most of the features related to textures rather than geo.

With that being said, I agree it would be nice to be able to hide geo in order to easily paint in occluded areas.

    Best regards,
