High-quality output in Painter up to 32k resolution

Hello. Many professional users need to be able to have 32k resolution in Painter like Marie. At least to output textures higher than 8k in Painter and render in rendering engines like Arnold.. Are there any plans for Painter to have this big update in the future?

If Painter works at a higher resolution and also paints with high quality, I myself will put Mari aside and only work with Painter. Because it has a smoother interface.

Even if it's not shown in the viewport and we can export above 8k just for outputting and exporting, that's still great. I hope this section will be added to Pinter soon. Because I think many people are waiting for this and it will bring many users to Pinter.

Hello @graphic5FEE,

We know that big VFX productions are facing some pain points in Painter and optimization is for sure a subject where Mari thrives more than we do. To be fair, that's also two very different workflows. Painter has a way more procedural approach where Mari is more about projection.

We are with each update improving the global optimization of the app, but there is still a long way to go before Painter can handle real time 8K and higher resolutions. In the meantime, you can already export multiple 8K UDIMs, just not visualize the result inside Painter's 3D view

Best regards,
