Make Adobe CC available natively on Linux

Please make Adobe CC available on Linux. I use  Ubuntu heavily and it would be very nice as a payling customer to have Adobe apps available on it.

It’s not going to happen.

  • Adobe can barely keep up with changes to Windows, Mac and iOS systems at very update cycle.
  • The majority of Adobe product users have Windows or Mac, not Linux. 
  • It’s not worth the extra effort it would take to support something that very few people use.

The thing is the Game has changed, Adobe doesn’t need to support every distro, they don’t even need to support Linux, they just need to bundle it with a Wine compatibility layer in their launcher like Steam did.

Make it work with whatever Wine fork for Adobe they come up with, then the code base is the same as Windows, your only developing 2 versions not 3.

The market has also shifted, 78% of developers are now using Linux as their primary platform, 1 in 10 gaming computer in English Speaking countries are now using Linux. The old argument of no one uses Linux is no longer valid, and its pretty much Adobe keeping people on Windows at this point.

I think you are beating a dead horse.

Adobe has made their position on Linux clear.

    I lost the link to the old message during the forum transfer… this has been requested for at least a dozen years and it has not happened… market share is too small and too many different versions

      I think most of that isn’t true anymore, it has been historically and I would agree with you for the last 20 years that was true, it was a immutable fact, but the story has suddenly changed.
