Layer organization

Layer organization is one of the most cumbersome things in Illustrator. I'd like to be able to select a target layer to paste into from another document. It also shouldn't force you to put it into a layer that you purposely locked or not paste it in at all.

Also, when I select a layer (with A or V tool) already in the document, I'd like it to open/highlight in the layers panel, so I don't have to scroll forever, looking for a tiny dot, to find it.
