P: Ability to handle a second quick project in LrC without losing place in the current project

Just today, I have 8 new photos that I want to quickly run through the LrC and share with friends. But I'd like to be able to do this in a second Lightroom window, without distrubing the main larger project that I'm in the middle of. It would be much faster and easier if I could have a second window to run through the importing, editing, and sharing, and then close that new temporary project window, when I'm done. Note: this temporary second project capability could have just limited basic features if easier to implement.

I haven't used additional catalogs in years, but agreed that could work. I only run LrC on my desktop now. Thanks...

Thanks. What to search on his page for the better options?

Although I agree there is no real reason not do do this in your existing catalog, why not simply create a (temporary) new catalog, do the things you want, and then go back to the main catalog? Lighroom really does not need to get any new features to do what you want!

You could, of course, create a new dedicated catalog for these images, but @GoldingD suggestions are better options.

Why would importing and then editing eight photos effect the existing previous work?

I am thinking that you want to segregate these eight photos from the others. Either think separate folders, or better yet use a collection.
