Collection synching / Lightroom Mobile is a great addition to Lightroom 5.4. Please extend this functionality to Smart Collections as well.

Has there been any current movement in Adobe to allow syncing Smart Collections to Lightroom mobile?   I'm stunned that this have been hanging for 3 years and has not been added.   I keep getting the "would you recommend Lightroom to a friend......?"  survey.   My once full positive moves one start to the left overtime I see it now.   Adobe should get off its duff and get moving on Lightroom as other options are quickly coming available.

Anyway, add my "yes" to the vote tally.   And I agree with Geg Jr.  The scenarios are ridiculous - if you manage your smart collections on your desk top or lap top, and the criteria for being included in a smart collection changes, then it should be removed across the networks.   Goodness, let people manage themselves.

I see this subject has been beat too death. Hey remember when you couldn't sync anything because there was no mobile? Sorry couldn't help it. 🙂

If the image is in the collection by virtue of a flag then if the flag is removed the image no longer fits the criteria so thus, it must be removed. Seems simple to me. Doesn't CC remove an image from a smart collection if the image no longer fits the criteria? Am I missing something here?

While I certainly understand the possible issues with syncing smart catalogues I take exception to the scenario where an images changes on mobile so gets removed from the smart collection on CC. My answer is so what? Perhaps a warning could be presented that making changes to an image smart collection criteria "might cause the image to be removed from the collection". Doesn't the same thing happen in CC? without warning?

+1, I'd also like to see this feature added.

+1  I believe I understand the tech problems. For me, even a limited one way "sync" would be of great benefit.  If my Smart Collections only downloaded to my mobile device.  Imagine you have a "Best of " Collection that you like to keep current on your mobile device for showing off.  I have a new 5 star photograph I want to automatically have on my mobile device.

Adobe, between this and some of the other limitations, like android video, you are about to lose me.  Yes, I am familiar with and like the desktop editing functions. But your competitors are close and their syncing is better.   Better wake up.

I also think smart collections syncing could be perfect on mobile for the very reason that you could so easily limit and set what you want to view  in mobile.  Naturally if you change a criteria you would expect the possibility that it might "disappear" from mobile but perhaps it could warn user of that before saving that change in case the user did not remember what fields were triggering the smart feature.

I sent Lr a message on Twitter asking about this idea, and the reply was (as expected) no ETA.

I am disappointed to find this thread 3 years later without any comments from Adobe staff. Even my old comment is still on here. It would be nice to know if Adobe has even considered this idea yet. Is it in the works? Is it going to be reserved for a future time? The lack of communication is worse than a clear answer, even if that answer is "no".
