P: Add Liquify Tool

Please, oh please, add a simple liquify or warp tool to the Q panel! Wedding photographers adore Lightroom, but round-tripping 1500 photos over to CC just to give errant armpits and dress straps a five-second cleanup is an enormous bog. Lightroom, I love you. This is all I ask to make my world complete. Please, we beg of you, let us move some pixels!

I am dying for there to be an added warp or liquify tool on Lightroom! I hate having to go into photoshop for two minutes to fix something with a destructive change that I could do without losing quality if lightroom had it in 2 seconds

You should make your request directly to Adobe, not to us other Lightroom Classic users in this forum. There is a link on the main page of this forum that says "Submit product feedback", that's where your request should go.

Maybe if Adobe could figure out a way to integrate Smart Object with Lightroom, then this would be possible? If i can run Liquify on a raw SO in Ps, why not in LR/ACR?

A one tool does all would be nice.  But likely not practical.  Generally lightroom is designed to develop images, PS to manipulate images.  Adobe has to draw the line somewhere.  The compromize, is make the round trip editing as painless as possible.   In your example; do 90% all in lightroom and when needed do the edit in PS function to pop in to PS quckily to do manipulation.

I can see them adding a few more things, but I am guessing they want to keep lightrrom as lean as possible so it does well, what it is designed for.   Just my opinion

Thanks Curt,

I have been using LR for years as a sorting and basic exposure adjustment tool, however I have not done my main editing in that program for at least 6 years. So I just figured out now that you can send the file directly into PS from LR, which does make it a bit more seamless. However, I still run into the issue of the black and white's not matching between the RAWs that have not been into PS, and the tiffs that are sent back from PS. I have long thought that it would be nice if there was a program that could marry the best of LR and PS. Maybe some day technology will advance enough that we will see that happen.

Thanks for responding!

YES, PLEASE !!!!  Especialy when editing bunch of photos (wedding, etc.), it is absolutely insane to do it like: edit in photoshop - make a simply liquify or something - save it like .psd, and manually copy it - synchronize, add to existing catalog or directory...... I can't believe it is not included for years already!!!

You can export the liquify mesh (6-10 MB)

I know that for many people this would be extremely useful!!

Not likely. XMP has to store any edits and Liquify actually renders changes. I don't see it happening.

I really really really wish there was a Liquify Tool inside LR Classic CC.  For the life of me, it simply doesn't make any sense that this extremely useful tool is not present in LR still after all these versions.  When batching hundreds of photos (Wedding Photographers have been asking this for years), it's insane to have to open so many photos inside PS only to do minor Liquify touch-ups.

I just don't understand why it's still not present in LR.

Well, it's not in there because probably only very few people want it in there, wedding photographers being a small percent of the total LR user base (and probably not all wedding photographers need it). In all my years of reading this forum, I have never seen anyone express an interest in having liquefy in Lightroom.

Also, please note that LR struggles with local adjustments on some hardware, I'm sure liquefy would be similar, or worse.

Nevertheless, if you want to submit a feature request, you can do so at: Lightroom Classic CC | Photoshop Family Customer Community By the way, a search at that link turns up zero requests for liquify to be added to LR.

Here's the existing feature request: Lightroom Classic: Add a simple liquify or warp tool | Photoshop Family Customer Community . Eleven people have voted for it in the past five years, making it one of the less popular requests.
