Has anyone mentioned soft proofing yet? If not, please add it! I'm sure you will.

You bring up some good points that I had not considered.

What would be the point of seeing the soft proof in Print when you've seen it in Develop where you'd presumably make a VC (Proof Copy) and edit? Also, due to the preview architecture, I don't think the preview in print is either possible or would be accurate (previews outside Develop are optimized for speed, use a different color space). It's a lot like the soft proof in Photoshop's Print dialog, what's the point? You can't do anything there but print anyway, if you want to fix an issue due to a soft proof, you'll have to go back to Develop (or in PS outside the Print dialog) to do any work anyway. As for brightness and contrast sliders that are in the print module, it's a klude for folks that do NOT have a properly calibrated and color managed workflow, otherwise, they would see they need to produce an actual adjustment on the data! It's a 'fix' for the dreaded 'my prints are too dark' (which isn't really the case), where if the user would just properly color manage the entire system, the print and display would (should) closely match: http://www.luminous-landscape.com/tut...

I would like to see soft proofing available in the print module. It would also be good if the soft proof could reflect the effects of the Lightroom brightness and contrast sliders that are in the print module.
