P: Automatic edited photo export

I'm a wedding photographer and I usually end up with over a thousand pictures after my shootings.

I wish lightroom had an auto-export option for large sessions, I have a Sony 7R III and the file sizes are huge by the time I'm done editing all of my photos I have to wait for up to 30 - 40 minutes sometimes even more time to complete my all exports.

I propose an Auto-Export Sync check box under folders, Running in the background to export photos as they have been edited. also, a percentage bar showing how many photos have been completed, if I wish to re-edit a photo an override option to update the previous edit would be a plus.

The export options bar feels like is outdated, and it's annoying every time it pops to do an export, there is no file size presets for social media like Instagram, Facebook, Google map etc.

I feel like this feature can save us, photographers, a lot of time between exports.

Another big issue I run into is while lightroom is processing a big export I can't do any more edits I have to wait until the export is done.

Thanks, Adobe I hope this request is taken into consideration.

Thanks @johnrellis

I have never used the plugin so I didn't know any of the options.

"Wouldn't that Republish with every edit step"

The plugin lets you configure how often it republishes.  So if you set it to, say, every, 2 minutes, that would minimize the number of times a photo being edited gets republished.  And publishing only does one photo at a time, so on a newer computer, you should be able to continue editing while the publishing occurs in background.

"When you finish editing a photo, simply drag it to the appropriate published collection in the publish service."

Or simpler, put all the photos to be edited in the published collection at the beginning of the editing session.

While waiting for Adobe to implement this, you might consider an alternative:

- Set up a Hard Drive publish service that publishes your photos to specified folders.

- Use the Publish Continuously command of the Bag-o-Goodies plugin to continuously publish in background newly added photos and photos that have changed in the publish service's collections

- When you finish editing a photo, simply drag it to the appropriate published collection in the publish service.
