P: Better video scrubbing controls for capturing 4k video frames
Since upgrading my camera gear for getting more into nature photography, I find myself more and more turning to high-resolution 4k video to capture speedy/elusive subjects that simply won't stay still for a good photo shot (especially with macro or superzoom shooting). As the quality and resolution of camera video has quickly risen, I suspect many others are doing frequent frame grabs for photo work, or will be doing so in the years ahead.
It's great that I can easily capture frames from a video with LR's existing movie playing controls, but they're pretty basic. I find that the lack of good scrubbing controls to be very frustrating. Most of the time, I have to plop the video into Premiere to use the much easier keyboard navigation tools there.
Do you use grabbed video frames more now? Would you like to see better video scrubbing controls in LR? I'm talking about a Premier-like timeline drag with good keyboard shortcut controls. What do YOU think?
