P: Brush tool to directly adjust depth (rather than relative focus/blur)

I'd like to see some improvements/additions to the lens blur manual adjustment tools. The AI does a great job, but it's never quite perfect. It would be really useful to be able to simply set/calibrate depth with an adjustment brush, rather than a relative focus/blur.

I think it means adding a third tool that is more explicitly "paint depth"—preferably with an eyedropper to select the depth level from the image. The depth level you are painting should correspond directly to the 1-100 scale that the focus range adjustment uses.

At least half of my time spent adjusting photos using lens blur is adjusting imperfect AI mapping of objects outside the main subject so that they match their surroundings. For that, I switch to the "visualize depth" map mode. If you're trying to get the image to a place where you can then adjust the blur amount and focus range, you really need the depth map itself to be accurate.

Why is the new tool needed?

Using the existing focus/blur tools in "visualize depth" mode to get the actual depth correct is difficult/a pain. You have to use a focus or blur brush on areas that are of the same current depth; then, adjusting the "amount" so that this brush area visually matches the color of the target depth area. It seems that "amount" is relative in some way, too. That means that if you want to adjust other areas to that same target depth, but these other areas are of a different current depth, you usually need to create a new brush and go through the same process because the "amount" setting may need to be different.

I realize that some people may just want to visually add a focus or blur and be done with it. I'm not knocking the existing tools for their purpose! As noted above, though, you can't eyeball if a blur amount looks about right on the image (sans depth map) and then count on that to then look OK when adjusting blur amount/depth range.

Secondarily, it'd be nice to see/select/delete individual brush areas.
