P: Digital Source Type IPTC field controlled vocabulary needs updating

The IPTC field "Digital Source Type", which Lightroom Classic calls "Source Type" uses a controlled vocabulary. The vocabulary is at https://cv.iptc.org/newscodes/digitalsourcetype/.

Currently there are 14 values. However, Lightroom only implements 5 values.

The first value implemented in Lightroom is incorrect. Lightroom uses "Original digital capture from a real life scene", while the correct value is "Original digital capture sampled from real life". The final value implemented in Lightroom, "Created by software", is now deprecated and has been replaced by a variety of more specific values.

Can someone at Adobe update the values for this field?

Thank you.

The issue is related also with Photoshop and Bridge.

Here are information about IPTC latest updates on DIGITAL SOURCE TYPE:

If you assign a valid value with EXIFTool, does Lightroom see it?

Posts to the forum can be seen by users like yourself or Adobe staff. Threads marked with a P: usually indicates that it has been reviewed by a member of Adobe staff.

Ahh, in plain site. Well, if you look in IPTC Extension. And shame on me for overlooking that.

Yes, broken, Adobe should fix. Fouls up publishing to sources depending on that info being accurate.

Thanks, John, for adding the pointer. I assumed that this was addressed to Adobe staff, and they would know where this information was displayed. I haven't investigated whether Photoshop (or Bridge) have the same issue.

Can you add some additional info. Perhaps in the way of screenshots of where in LrC this info shows up.

Also, your screenshot, perhaps an example needing clarity, where is that screenshot from?

Also, in PS, does PS have the same issue?
