It would be great if we could add more functionality and flexibility to "Create a Virtual Copy" (In the Develop & Library Modules) when right clicking the preview in the filmstrip or library

Instead of "Create a Virtual Copy" I would like to see it become it's own sub-menu titled:

"Virtual Copies..."

Inside the sub-menu would be the following:

  • Create Duplicate Copy
  • Rename Copy Extension
  • Create Copy Preset(s)
    • B&W
    • Sepia
    • FT04
    • User Preset
    • AI Denoise
    • Cropped
    • etc.

My current workflow is that I will:

  1. Edit a color photo the way I like it
  2. Modify into B&W* (if desired)
  3. Apply DeNoise* (if applicable)
  4. Edit outside of Lightroom* (if applicable)
  5. Crop* (sometimes for multiple uses, Social Media, Wallpaper, Web, Client etc.)

*Often means I make a virtual copy.

I make a lot of virtual copies and it gets a bit annoying when you have a bunch haha. It would be really awesome to have a designated "Create a Copy with X Preset" and the option to edit the copy name by right clicking the preview. I think a "Apply Naming Preset" would be really useful too. If I really love a photo and want to make a B&W version I have to create a virtual copy, go into the library module, scroll to the metadata and change copy name from there. It really interrupts the editing groove to try and stay organized in this current setup. It would be awesome if we had expanded "Virtual Copy" features in the Develop & Library Modules

This is actually a great idea that would improve workflow.
I was thinking of something similar - clicking right mouse button or while colding ctr on a preset "create a virtual copy and apply to it".
