P: Import to subfolder

Please bring back the "Import to subfolder" in the import dialog.

Before this was removed, the default import folder was the previous one (e g "2024/08") and I could choose to put the new files in subfolder "03", and everything landed nicely in folder "2024/08/03".

That's one click and three keyboard presses.

Now the default value is my last import folder (e g "2024/08/02") and I have to click "Other destanation", get thrown out into Windows Explorer, go back up one level, press "New folder" and create the new folder.

That's just extra steps. Please bring back the previous workflow.

Ok, a screenshot to demonstrate what you are clicking on (I think) and to set up a question

So, I suspect over on the right in the destination Panel, you do not like what is shown, and you go to the top right in Drive selection, and select Other Destination, and a Windows File Manager screen shows up and you select what your desire.

So first thing up, what is shown for Destination when you open the Import Screen. That would be (if LrC is not being odd) whatever was selected the last time you imported. I take it that you go and change the destination, accomplish the import, then later try another import, and that destination does not match the previous????

Two things could be causing this (well two I have run into)

  • The previous destination folder was moved/renamed outside of LrC. But you should get an error message if that is the case (and this normally trips up Import via ADD)
  • The preference file is corrupt

Now another point, or perhaps a question for clarity. Over on the right, in the destination panel, do you not see, or have the ability in LrC to select a subfolder?
