P: Lightroom Classic: Panel Scroll Bar / Close annoyance

The panel scroll bar and close panel bar arrow section are annoyingly close together. On a 4K monitor (and possibly lower resolutions) the panel scroll bar is so thin that it's easy to press the close button instead. This is frustrating when trying to select the appropriate tool and you just keep closing/unclosing the panels. Is it possible to either increase the size of the scroll bar, be able to lock the panel in place or a mix of the two. Cheers,

How has it been 8 years and this still has not been addressed?

This could be easily fixed by making so that side panels can only be shown/hidden by double clicking on the triangle.

A single click would not do anything so our problem would be solved...no UI re-design needed.

Very basic coding, a JDI.

Move the Arrow beside the Slider Sidebar. Every time I try to move the slider up or down with the bar, the arrow to move the slider sidebar seems to always move the sidebar away when I need it. VERY FRUSTRATING. Please, pretty please, move that arrow either to the top of the bar or the bottom of the bar, not to the side where it is now.

Unfortunately, people have been complaining about this for many, many years, and Adobe seems uninterested in fixing it.

@ghappys

I like to use a wacom tablet and pen to work on LR and it's frustrating to close the panels when trying to scroll through them.

While you're waiting for Adobe to implement this feature, which could be a long wait, you can use 'Solo' mode. In 'Solo' mode only one panel can be open at any time. 'Solo' mode can be activated by clicking on any panel header to expose the Context menu. See attached screenshot.

This is really annoying! I like to use a wacom tablet and pen to work on LR and it's frustrating to close the panels when trying to scroll through them. I do not want to use the trackpad or a mouse wheel to scroll thru the panels 'cause I am already holding my pen! Adobe... I mean, you guys have implemented and improved tons and tons of features on LR since 2015 when this post started, why can't you add on the existing contextual menu a "Lock panels" option? or "simply" remove the little triangle that closes the panel. Any time I want to open or close those panels I just press TAB and works perfectly. It's like having a really nice sports car with a horrible dent most people see but for some strange reason the owner won't fix. Don't hate me, I love U.

If they could finally implement a solution, it would be great...

I quite simply agree with everything said here!

This thread started in 2015 & nothing has changed.  I find little use for the "hide panels" strip along the edge of the screen.  It is too close to the scroll bar which is much more useful. Keyboard shortcuts can be used instead of the long annoying hide panel bar. That side bar should be shrunk to a button, nothing more. Using a pen or a mouse to scroll is rairly accurate enough to avoid the dreaded panel closure strip. It seems like a very simple change to us non-programers. It's been annoying me since the inception of Lightroom.

This issue is honestly the most consistently annoying thing in Lightroom.
