Why there isn't a keyboard shotcut for the IA selection tools?

I propose to introduce a shortcut also for Subject selection and Sky selection!

The same goes for the new item "Objects". Shortcuts here too please.

Also, if you're on Mac, you can use Mac OS' System Preferences to assign a shortcut to the LR menu commands Tools > Create New Mask > Select Subject and Select Sky.  On Windows, you'd have to use a third-party utility like Autohotkey (free).

@steveb78180277, unfortunately there currently isn't any way to assign a shortcut to Select Subject or Sky using Any Shortcut or by editing TranslatedStrings.  If Adobe does the tiny bit of work to implement my suggestion in a future release, then you'd be able to do it.

@johnrellis Is there a way to change the shortcut for select subject in the app, or do I need to edit the strings? I bought the plug-in, impressive work!

It would take a very small amount of effort to allow users to define their own shortcuts for Select Subject and Select Sky, using the Any Shortcut plugin or by manually editing TranslatedStrings.

LR provides shortcuts for all the mask components except Select Subject and Select Sky.  The few lines of code defining ZStrings for those could be duplicated for Subject/Sky, with these ZStrings:

"$$$/AgDevelop/Localized/Mask/Key/SelectSubject="
"$$$/AgDevelop/Localized/Mask/Key/SelectSky="

These would complement the keyboard-shortcut ZStrings for the other mask components:

"$$$/AgDevelop/Localized/Mask/Key/Brush=K"
"$$$/AgDevelop/Localized/Mask/Key/CircularGradient=Shift+M"
"$$$/AgDevelop/Localized/Mask/Key/ColorRange=Shift+J"
"$$$/AgDevelop/Localized/Mask/Key/DepthRange=Shift+Z"
"$$$/AgDevelop/Localized/Mask/Key/LinearGradient=M"
"$$$/AgDevelop/Localized/Mask/Key/LuminanceRange=Shift+Q"

But for Select Subject and Sky, it would be up the user to use Any Shortcut or manually edit TranslatedStrings to assign actual shortcuts.

Is there any to have a shortcut to the subject select mask? Or the ability to change some key mappings like in Photoshop? It would be a huge time saver!

Problem is: what shortcuts should be used!?

If you check at the list of existing shortcuts it's evident we don't have many (or any) good options left.

Some of the existing shortcuts would have to be reassigned to Sky and Subject.

Sky and Subject are also more rarely used than the other tools so the need for shortcuts is probably secondary.
