"Done" button on the "T" panel doesn't show up anymore when in crop or masking tool. I'm missing it.

I can pretty much guarantee that anyone who is not annoyed, hell, furious, at the massive disruption that this caused to workflow - muscle memory is a big deal after hundreds of thousands of edits - is either

1. Not actually editing all that much to begin with

or

2. Like me and saw it as an opportunity to try Capture One, fell in love with how much more powerful it is for handling raw files, and is thrilled to say goodbye to Lightroom!

Thanks, Adobe, I wish I had jumped to C1 years ago.

Still can't live without Photoshop, though.

Another issue with this which may cause confusion for new users is that there are now two uses of the word "edit"in the lightroom UI. Ive always associated edit with a right clicking on an image and opening it in photoshop via "edit in" contextual menu .Now we have an edit button that returns to Develop module, or is it the edit module now?

@skyrunr

Well I am actually not defending the "Done" button not advocating to have it back.

Not having the "Intersect" button in Masking always displayed alongside Add and Subtract is a much bigger issue to my eyes as I suspect many users don't know the button exists as it's "hidden".

Thank you for the recommendation, but I have LR working well enough for now.  As long as they don't keep messing with the key structure and layout.

As a long-time Photoshop/LR user I'm not relying on third party plug-ins. I'm quite familiar with them as a company I worked for designed one.  I've spent hundreds of dollars and hours on plug-ins over the years, only to have them break with updates. TreeExporter is one my favorites, but really shouldn't be needed.

Keyboard remapping is such a basic function that the main program should have it.  Just like Photoshop does.

Since I'm paying a monthly subscription, I'm paying for the right to complain a little.  You're defending a button that literally doesn't do anything, and you have that right too. 😉

@skyrunr

We can now use Any Shortcut Plug-in by @johnrellis to change the shortcut for the existing panels and improve/tailor more the workflow to our needs.

For instance one can use "Shift + D" to open crop (I use it for Masking as I no longer use LrC internal Crop as Any Crop Plug-in is better)

C.Cella - Your reply is further PROVING the argument that the button is NOT even needed.  It it taking up valuable space and prevents adding other tools in the future.  I have less of an issue witht he "done" button on the bottom (in otherwise UNUSED space btw,) than I do with moving the much more frequently used crop button.  Lightrool tools are MUCH more mouse driven than keyboard driven.  This is coming from someone who mostly uses numerical input to enter adjustments using tab and shift-tab, but even that navigation is pretty messed up too.

We read from left to right and from top to buttom.  It is how everything flow.

Don't get me started on Lightroom's atypical approach to quick-keys that we can't modify or customize.  LR's design also prevents us from properly setting up midi controllers and other custom devices.

The "Done" button was not doing anything beside "Closing" whatever Local Panel was open.

We have now better and faster ways to open/close panels using icons and KBSC shortcuts.

All local panels icons are at the top and it made no sense to ask users to reach the bottom to close them...this is why it was removed, it was done to have a better an more efficient workflow for the users.

I agree 100% with Franks opinion, please reintroduce  "DONE" tool. Thanks.

I posted earlier that if I were going to learn a new workflow, I might as well see what all the hype about capture one is all about. I am still learning, and it has cost me hours upon hours of extra time, but I'm finally getting some muscle memory in C1. The answer is an absolute, shining, gleaming, angles singing, heavens opening YES!!! Capture one is far superior. Thanks Adobe, for making this stupid change. My images have taken a leap forward without you. well, I still love you for photoshop. 😛

Same for me : i'm still looking down for the done button, then up hesitating where to go next. I thought I would forget about those old habits faster. It was just stupid to get rid of it and leave that place empty.
