P: Moving images from folder to folder

If you have hundreds of folders, it's burdensome to select and move images to a second folder which can be hard (and certainly time consuming) to find.   Would be great if you could select the images,  then click on the "Recent Sources" (or "Favorite Sources")  triangle in lower tool bar to bring it up, and then move your selected images to that folder.   What happens now is you lose the selection when you click the triangle.
Or I'm open to some other clever method of getting the two folders easily that I don't know about.  It's much easier with Collections where you can make one a target and then move all images in with a simple "b".

Are you saying that IN Lightroom I can cut an image (= delete) and then go to a new folder and somehow paste?   Dunno how to do this.   But the solution below is a miracle.

Sounds like your suggesting is to have folders within folders, and LR has always had this feature.   What am I not understanding?  I'm 100% for better organization of any kind.

I too like my folders organized as many times access via folders is easier in my workflow.  Try this:

1)  Select the folder containing the images you want to move and select those images in the normal fashion

2) in the "filter Folders" box at the top of the folders panel, type the first part of the target folder name.  This step will hide all the folders not starting with the typed name but will show the parent folders of the target along with the target folder.  This will not change the selection in the grid.  Your previously selected images will still be there and will still be selected even though their folder is now hidden

3) drag the selected images to the now visible target folder.

4)  clear the filter box by clicking the "X" at its right end and you'll pop back to the original (source) folder

1) Accept cut and paste of selected items
2) Provide search for each of folders, and collections.

Procedure: Select, Cut, Find folder or collection, Select collection, Paste

Fits how we deal with cut and paste under windows.

I agree, a better way to do this would be good. I find the scrolling column of folders an irritant.
I suggested an Organizational Module here: https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/module-suggestion-organize

Call me a dinosauer or whatever.   I do almost all my work with collections.   But ... I still like to have the actaul images in folders labeled with place and date - enables me to search "place" and get them.

Why don’t you leave the photo’s in their present folders? The organization is better done with collections, Hierachiecal Keywords and/or smart collections.
