Please add Preserve Details 2.0 to the LrC export page. Obvious locaion would be in the Resize dialogue box. It will save a trip to PS.

I'm getting confirmation from other sites about this improving detail when downszing. Algorrithms are aleardy there. I don' think it would take much to add it.

Just to add so I comapered apples to apples I did make any changes to either file after the DNG I sent to PS came back to LrC as a TIFF. Since the TFF came back at 1600 I unchecked Image Sizing. The DNG was larger so I checked the Image Sizing and resized to 1600 using the same Export Sharpening values.

I encourage anyone reading to try this as well see if they are getting the same results.

I'm finding it more useful for downszing. I ran file through Denoise AI. I sent it ot PS and used Image Size. I rezised to 1600 on the long side and saved back to PS which came back as a TIFF. I exported it without resizing at screen - standard. I then exported the original DNG at 1600 - screen standard.

The DNG is on the left and the TIFF isn on the right. There is better detail everywhere with the TIFF file. For wildlife photography every bit counts.

Preserve details only does a slightly better job than a regular export from LrC when enlarging files.

LrC's Super resolution does a much better job, and you may want to consider using that instead of Preserve details.

Below is a 100% view of the three resizing methods. This is an 8161 x 6121 file enlarged to 16322 x 12242 pixels.

Make sure to view the screenshot at 100%.
