P: Stop Lightroom from stealing focus in Windows 11

Firstly, I have searched the discussions here and found plenty of gripes by others, but nothing indicating a workaround or that Adobe is doing anything about it, so please try to resist crucifying me for not being diligent.

Adobe Lightroom Classic 13.0.1; Build 202310121438 (but this behavior has been present for years)

Any time Lightroom is 'working', i.e. importing photos, removing photos from catalog, things that take minutes not seconds, I have found I can't even use Alt-Tab to switch to another window. When I do, the screen flashes and resets my attempt, prevents it, multiple times per second. When Lightroom is not actively working, it still takes two alt-tabs to get to another application in Windows. This behavior is unacceptable. I can only assume Adobe forced this behavior to 'help us', but how can they still believe this is helpful in any way? It diminishes my love for Adobe products significantly, and makes me wonder what they're thinking. Is there anyone out there who appreciates this behavior? If so, I can't imaging they are more than 0.01% of users.

Adobe, please offer a setting to turn this behavior off. It serves no purpose other than to annoy users.

PS: Just alt-tabbing from this web browser window to Lightroom About, Lightroom actively tries to prevent me from alt-tabbing away from it. Seriously??

Also reproducible with 14.0.1

Additionally I noticed that even without a running job, LrC "breaks" ALT-TAB:  If LrC is in focus and you press ALT-TAB, the overlay will flicker and LrC will be selected in ALT-TAB again. The usual behaviour is that the previous window will be selected.

This is also reproducible for me.

I second that but I would not rank this as an idea but rather an unexpected interaction with the environment aka a bug.

Windows 11 24H2 with Lightroom 13.0.4 here with the upgrade from Win10 to 11 just recently.

During an import, the progress is part of the window title. Any update to the percentage (and thus the window title) will "reset" an opened ALT-TAB overlay. There are no flashes as described above but I can confirm the "reset" and the resulting repeated ALT-TABs.

This is reproducible for me.

Adobe Lightroom Classic 13.0.1

Any particular reason you are on the first bug fix of v13, and not 5 updates later? Current is v13.5

Mind you, your particular problem is not listed in any of those updates as a bug fix.

But fairly sure an update of LrC will not cause your problem to go away. Does not look like either Adobe or Microsoft have solved this.

I cannot repeat that issue on my rig

But, yes, I can see several old postings on this, some have this issue, some do not. Apparently Adobe has not been able to pin down the cause and they might think it is system (your system) related.
