P: Super Resolution - extra checkbox to downsize output to original size

Hi,

I often use Super Resolution + Enhance Details to counter diffraction effects in pictures shot at narrow apertures, it's really good at that, pretty amazing what comes out if you use it to upscale and enhance, and then downsize the output to original size.

I realise this is very much a first world problem, but having an extra checkbox in Super Resolution dialog window where we currently have:

- Raw Details (on/off)

- Super Resolution (on/off)

My suggestion would be to add one more option that will downsize output to original size, maybe something like:

- Downsize to original image size (on/off)

Saves a few clicks but the value added is that this makes it more obvious right from the UI that Super Resolution can be used in this way, to a great effect

The more I think about this I do not think this will ever be implemented as it is really not needed.  Although this helped a little on a couple small aperature photos I am not sure many would use it as it is just as easy to leave the full size one in LrC and just export to a smaller size when needed.  By doing a double resize for the final export it would probably mess up the photo more than you would gain.

@Skromny Tomasz

Thanks for the tip.  I just took a Small Aperature photo and it does seem to improve thing doing the Enhance and Downsize to original.  The photo does have to be very sharp to start with though.  I avoid diffraction at all cost but every once in awhile I forget when doing Landscapes trying to get everything in focus but have been using focus stacks now.

How I use it:

1. 60 megapixel raws shot at maybe f20 or even narrower

2. Import into Lightroom Classic -> Enhance / Super Resolution

3. Export the gigantic output from LRC, back to 9504 x 6336, output sharpening for screen at standard setting

I don't know if this only works so well when Super Resolution gets a lot of pixels to work with, it does wonders for foliage/rocks/sand, basically anything where diffraction smeares fine detail in texture. It doesn't look as good as if you focus stacked a landscape pic, but with some pics it really gets close

Could you share the procedure you use to test the perceived benefit?
I did the following used the Enhance and Super resolution feature to produce a DNG then selected the DNG and exported and resized to the original pixel dimensions. I can see no perceived benefit.
