P: Support for importing Live Photos (iOS 9, iPhone 6s)

Just got iphone 6s. One new feature is "Live Photos" which while taking a still picture also takes a 3 sec movie. When imported into Apple's Photos app each Live photo becomes 2 files, a movie file and a normal picture file that can be edited. In lightroom the imported Live photo file is only a movie file, which can"t be edited. Can this be changed in a future update so that importing also gives a normal still picture file and a movie file?

I was dismayed to find that this was not fixed in the latest update. I tried changing this setting, but even after restarting these photos still show as MOV+JPEG and the jpeg component can't be edited. PLEASE fix this.

It's been over a month now. Is a fix coming for this?

Very important that Lr supports this ASAP.

Also, and this pales in comparison to not being able to edit them, but the thumbnails for the videos are upside down.

Please support Apple "Live Photos" as soon as possible.

If "Live Photos" are not supported within about 6 months, Lightroom becomes useless for me.
(I also shoot RAW photos with my "real" camera, but about 50% of my photos are shot with the iPhone.)

This is a huge problem for me. I shoot RAW+jpeg on my dslr. There's got to be a way to separate these on a case-by-case basis.

Adam,
Thanks for the tip. It worked! Just had to quit and relaunch LR after changing the settings.

I now get the same 2 files in Lightroom as I did in Photos. Having this setting in LR and potentially importing 2 files for each shot for all my other camera will not be a problem for me as I only shoot Raw files on my Canon 60D.

The movie and still files have the same name with different extensions. Lightroom seems to be treating the movies as raw files, and skipping the jpeg files. Worse, it deletes the JPEG files without importing them if you have Move selected in the import settings. For Live Photos, this is a not the behavior I want.

As a workaround, you can check the "Treat JPEG files next to raw files as separate photos" option in Settings->General, then start the import over again. This will import both the movie and jpeg files. However, this is not a per-camera setting, so it will also start importing typical RAW+jpeg pairs.
