P: Support for importing Live Photos (iOS 9, iPhone 6s)

Just got iphone 6s. One new feature is "Live Photos" which while taking a still picture also takes a 3 sec movie. When imported into Apple's Photos app each Live photo becomes 2 files, a movie file and a normal picture file that can be edited. In lightroom the imported Live photo file is only a movie file, which can"t be edited. Can this be changed in a future update so that importing also gives a normal still picture file and a movie file?

Amen! That's exactly what I'm talking about. As Adobe isn't communicating this at all, there's only one hope: Affinity. They seem to understand the Apple universe so they'll come up with a "better" Lightroom.

It's disappointing to see language like "Importing Live photos is supported by Lightroom." - at best this is stretching the truth.

Treating the video portion as a separate asset is not how live photos are meant to work. I strongly suspect users don't want every photo they take with their iPhone to appear twice in their library - but this is what we get now.

More than 3 years on from live photos, it's sad that Adobe has ignored this great feature.

There will be no further updates to LR CC 6 x. At the moment, the latest LR Classic(7.5) doesn't support it but when it does, it won't go to LR 6 I'm afraid 😞

I imported them onto my MacBook Pro but they were imported as 1-2 sec video files so LR CC 6.12 will not develop them. Any suggestions?

Even with the latest LR CC, you can import and develop it, but you would lose the "Live" part.  You would end up just a regular static photo.

I am importing Live photographs from iPhoneX into LR 6.2. I cannot DEVELOP them because LR treats the Live stills as movies. What is the fix for this problem which from these earlier exchanges has been an on-going problem for several years? Thanks.

3 years already and there's still no sight of supporting Live Photos in Lightroom CC.  Is it really that difficult to be able to back up a Live Photo and be able to export it as Live Photo back to the Camera Roll?

I heard Google Photos was able to do that already.

That's ok, I got it, and when the engineers get to look at Live Photos, they'll see your posts. Whether they'll go "all the way" on support, I don't know. I hope so.

It would be great if somebody would truly understand what I mean. It seems like nobody reads the full text and meaning of it ...
