I would like to switch to the new Lightroom CC, but being able to sort images in my collections/albums by Custom/User Order like I can in Classic is an absolute requirement for my workflow.

Greetings,

Updates to the Adobe Photography Products were released yesterday and include a fix for this issue. Please install the December update, restart your system and verify that you are no longer experiencing the issue.

Thank you for your assistance in reporting, providing additional information and, most of all, for your patience.

Yes! Finally 😉 They also add some export options but I can’t see why there’s still no way to export in 300 dpi 😕😕

Would you believe it, we nearly forgot to say.... it's in the latest desktop releases!

Fully agree with all the frustrated comments.  The only reason I hadn't voted until now is because I am a techno-peasant and only just figured out how!  I only wish I could vote a million times.....

I have spent hours trying to sort my pictures in an album so I can present them in the order I want in a slide show.  I with those who find it very hard to believe that this hasn't been fixed yet.

Hi all; I’ve been tracking this a while. I agree it’s remarkable that even today Adobe hasn’t enabled useful custom sorting on the desktop Lightroom cc. (Or robust exporting). And it’s genuinely inconveniencing for serious workflows. That said, and though I’m sure some if not most of you already know this, I just wanted to mention that one can custom sort on iPad or iPhone Lightroom and the order remains on the desktop version. This is my current work around. And Adobe, you might want to consider that number of votes isn’t necessarily reflective of importance to professional users. A lot of us are too busy to dedicate time to write posts like this, and instead just feel irritated and limited by the glaring absence and look for alternatives. Love a lot of what you do, it’s just that this is so ABC level that I’m amazed I’m still having to rely on a time consuming and often frustrating workaround.

What surprises me is that we have only 74 votes for this issue. I’d have expected hundreds of votes for such a basic and simple feature that has indeed been existing in any other album organizer. It’s a shame that this essential function is missing in a pro software system from a major specialized vendor, who uses an expensive subscription model. People, please press rhe vote button !

I have talked to higher-ups at adobe on the lightroom team, they have been aware of this issue for some time now. Honestly, I don't expect them to fix this anytime soon. I had to reorder massive collections as a remedy.

Get lots of people to vote. More votes = higher priority.

Just ignore the fact that Adobe calls it an idea rather than a problem. It's essentially the same thing, it's just an internal designation.

Victoria, you or whoever from Adobe is monitoring this is completely dropping the ball on this matter. It’s just hilarious you keep defending this is just an ‘idea’. This is a basic feature as everyone else has pointed out and missing because it’s just not on the radar since it’s prioritized as an ‘idea’. Please share how we can escalate this matter to the right persons at Adobe. We have been waiting for over two years for something so simple and something that has been existing in ANY photo album organizer since dot.com area. Can we drop a complaint somewhere or any other way the Dev team can explain why they still haven’t fixed his PROBLEM!!!
