P: Add XMP export support from Lightroom Mobile

Having to export full DNG files to get edits and metadata is very cumbersome, especially for someone working from an iPad to desktop workflow. Please add the ability to export just the XMP sidecar files. Cloud syncing is limited when traveling abroad (a recent work trip resulted in 300gb of photos that the hotel wifi was not cooperative with) and it would be so much faster when moving from one device to another.

Example of how a workflow with XMP support would work: Copy RAW files to iPad Pro, backup to external hard drive, import to LR Mobile, cull and edit, export XMPs to external drive alongside RAW files, import to Lightroom Classic upon return from trip.

Currently I either have to wait until I get back to the desktop setup to cull and edit, or I have to duplicate a bunch of RAW files as DNGs in the meantime, essentially doubling the space necessary for file storage on the go.

Cloud storage and sync is not a good option for traveling abroad where internet speeds are slow or non-existent (a week in Cuba on dial-up speeds, etc). Adobe, please give us options and flexibility outside of the cloud.

Hi @Peponeitor , RE "I bought a tablet to travel and edit" - what editor do you use on your tablet to edit raw files? I am looking for one that would be 1) a good editor, 2) not dependent on my iPad's Photos app, 3) allow exporting XMP. The #2 is important for me because I see that many editors want the files to be first imported into Photos, and I don't want to do that because I use Photos for my personal snapshots (iPhone, family,...); I use Google Drive for my photography instead.

I store all my pictures in Dropbox. Editing in desktop is quite easy since the xmp files get synced automatically. I bought a tablet to travel and edit and I'm not paying for extra storage in Adobe cloud (only have 20gb vs 2tb in dropbox)

Not being able to keep all my pics together is a deal breaker.

I fully agree on the idea of your worflow but I believe there is a really simple solution for Adobe to implement wher some parts of it is already in place. I have noted that when I sync my Ipad while already having imported the raw files into Lr Classic then the sync will not upload the actaul raw file again but only create a virtual copy with the Ipad edits. This is great but sync is still extremely slow as it seems all files on the iPad are checked. What I would suggest is an option like "prioritize sync of metadata" wherein a check is made whether the file already exists on Classic and then only the edits are transferred - if the file does not exists, it is synced until all metadata are synced (or not at all as an option)
