P: Enable/Disable Duplicate Detection

For some reason, despite different metadata, file names, etc. Lightroom CC seems to think photos take sequentially from the same camera have already been imported before. This is frustrating as there seems to be no way in app to make Lightroom import these "duplicates". I have tried importing directly from the camera, the CF card and from my NAS, nothing seems to stop LR from classifying these photos as duplicates. All photos are imported to a folder on the NAS with its own date of import. File names are not duplicated.

Two things: 1. Does anyone have a work around for this issue and; 2. How do I make a feature request for Adobe to enable this function. I didn't have this issue in LR Classic.

- No duplicate detection / deletion feature

- No easy syncing with iPhoto

- No manual geotagging

Why are these basic features missing from Lightroom 😞

I went into my memory card from my mac and selected all the photos and changed the name.  I used the add to the file name feature. That fixed it for me.

While this app is amazing, and i have fun using it, I really believe you should remove the feature "skipping duplicates", not only it wont let you import photos you want to edit differently and keep the other edit, but also sometimes app doesnt recognize that the photo is not actually a duplicate, but more rather a simillar one with some other photo. I tried looking for a solution in the settings but there was none

If you want to create multiple edits of an image in Lr. you have two choices:

1. Use versions. Single image, but allowes you to easily switch between versions.

2. Specifically to duplicate the image. Right click on an image and select duplicate....

As for the imports. I have no suggestions; and I do not have such an issue.

I have a vague recollection that importing via the web interface bypasses the duplicate detection. I don't have any suitable files to test the theory, but it might be worth a quick go as a workaround.
