P: Filter by lens and file type

I would love to be able to filter by lens type, similar to how you can filter by camera body. Would make it easy to see all photos taken with my 50mm, 23mm, 90mm etc. at a glance. Would also want to be able to see my raw vs JPEG files without the cumbersome searching of “.jpeg” in the search bar.

@Victoria Bampton LR Queen Thank you for sharing the lens: and extension: methods.  I don't think I ever would have found that.  Not user friendly, Adobe.

I am baffled that this is not easily accessible in the filters. Also, why are there no smart albums in CC?? Baffling

You can already do that. Just type 'lens', as shown below. Type 'Focal' to filter by focal length.

Please add to Lightroom mobile to filter by type of lens or by focal length for example

To remove confusion: Everyone in this topic actually requesting a feature (as opposed to those replying) was referring to Lightroom CC.

It looks like the title was accidentally changed to "Lightroom Classic" a few hours ago. I've changed it to "Lightroom CC" and removed the "Lightroom Classic" tag.  If anyone here has a feature request for Lightroom Classic, please start a new topic and tag it with "Lightroom Classic".  (Thanks once again to the Adobe marketers for the perspicuous naming.)

Yes, THIS is exactly what I want (Reminder, the article is tagged as LR CC too), brand and focal lenght. Now I am getting focal lenght only.

And I just found out why. I included some photos from other photographer into my library, where is focal lenght only included in EXIF, so the filter is now spammed with varoius lenghts he used. Down at the bottom is what I was looking for. Dammit.

My bad, sorry for that.

Go through the filters of the Library (Reminder, the title of the article specifies LR Classic)

Choose the right columns and you can easily select the various elements of the filter!

I think what you get in the "lens:" faceted search is exactly what you get if you use the Library Filter in LR Classic. A quick comparison looks pretty similar, except that Classic returns numbers of images per lens whereas LRCC does not.

I have some lenses that do include the manufacturer, others that do not.....but it's the same in both apps. If there's not a manufacturer specified in the results, I think it's likely that the lens doesn't/didn't send that information to the camera.

I came here to support request for lens filter, just to find out it was already implemeted. Typing "lens:" is not ideal, but better than nothing, pitty you need to google while it coud have its own filter section in UI.

BUT what I get from "lens:" search query is just focal lenght filter, not the concerete model or manufacturer of that lens. I am still missing that.
