663.83 GB of 1 TB used here, still waiting for face detection on my library as well.

I'd already added that thread to the issue we are tracking but thanks for posting the links both places. 

839.65 GB available of 1TB; and I have 19,137 photos.

Over 48 hours now and still nothing.

Appreciate the work you guys are surely doing behind the scenes—but I think some lessons learned on this. It’s really poorly communicated, and for us users just seems broken 😕😕

Can’t wair for it to be up and running properly, I have been hanging out for this one.

The upside to all this is: I'm really excited about this new feature, and grateful that Adobe has added it! Just a few days before the release someone asked me to dig up all the photos I have of just them with one other person, and I had no idea how I would achieve that without manually combing through my library one photo at a time (I haven't had the time or discipline to do something like manually add a tag for each person in every photo, or any other strategy). This new functionality should make that sort of search much, much easier.
 
The downside is, of course, that it hasn't actually detected faces in the vast majority of my library, so I can't actually leverage this great new functionality in any useful way yet.

To be fair, there may be legitimate technical reasons why Adobe couldn't run the recognition before the release. However, I don't think there's a good excuse for the poor communication to customers around this. I think we'd all be less confused and frustrated if they provided better documentation/communication on how this is being rolled out. Some form of visibility into whether progress is being made on the detection within each of our libraries would also go a long way.
