P: Real-Time Dual-Device Preview

I am writing to express my appreciation for the dual-monitor support feature in Lightroom. Building upon this functionality, I would like to suggest an enhancement that could further improve the user experience.

Real-Time Preview Across Devices

It would be highly beneficial to have a feature that enables real-time synchronization between two devices running Lightroom. Specifically, when editing an image on one device, the second device would display the edited version simultaneously. This functionality would allow users to:

  • Compare HDR and SDR Outputs: View the same image in High Dynamic Range (HDR) on one device and Standard Dynamic Range (SDR) on another, facilitating precise adjustments for different display technologies.

  • Before and After Comparisons: Instantly compare edited images with their original versions across two screens, aiding in more accurate editing decisions.

  • Evaluate Color and Brightness Across Displays: Assess how edits appear on different devices, ensuring consistency in color and brightness across various screens.

This feature could be implemented similarly to Visual Studio's Live Share, where a simple activation button establishes a live editing session between devices.

HDR Preview Support on Android Devices

Additionally, expanding HDR preview capabilities to a broader range of Android devices would be greatly advantageous. While I understand that Lightroom for mobile (Android) currently supports HDR on select devices such as Google Pixel 7 and Google Pixel Fold running Android 14 , extending this support to other capable devices would enhance the editing experience for a larger user base. This would allow photographers to accurately preview and edit HDR content directly on their Android devices, ensuring consistency and quality in their work.

Thank you for considering these suggestions. I believe these enhancements would significantly benefit the Lightroom community by providing more versatile and accurate editing tools.

Thanks for this feedback!  Note that your second request, "Before and After Comparisons" is already supported, at least to a degree.  On the secondary monitor, clicking the "lock" icon will keep the appearance of the photo on the secondary monitor from changing.  So you could lock the appearance before you start editing, and then the primary monitory will show the edited version and the secondary monitor will show the "before" version.
