P: Share Smart Albums

It would be great if you could share smart albums the same way you share normal albums.

I shoot sports events and when go through the shots I tag them with the club of the athletes and then set up smart albums to populate photos based on keywords.  The problem is I can't then share these albums and have to take a static copy of the photos and add them to normal album which I then share.  This is not ideal as the normal album  is a static snapshot in time where these events go over 3 days so as I tag more shots I need to repopulate the static album from the smart album.

It would make much more sense if smart albums could just be shared (please please please)

I agree with this person completely. I would very much like to see the Smart Album sharing become a possibility sooner than later, as it both saves time and optimizes workflow. Please make this happen, Adobe!

Today I reorganised my image collection (using a PC) to take advantage of Smart Albums. It worked really well, so once I was happy with the new system I deleted my "old" albums.

Only later did I discover that the Smart Albums don't appear on my Android phone. I would not have switched to Smart Albums if I had known that. Am I missing something obvious here, or does LR on Android just not support Smart Albums?

Hi is there anyway to share a smart album in lightroom?  I can share normal albums (right click share) but why isn't there the same option for smart albums?  The reason I want to share smart albums is as I tag photos I then have the rule base don tag for the photo to go into different smart albums that I then share with different clients.  I can't see the option to share the smart albums

I don't think you can, and the explanation is as follows: A smart album is not really an album, but a saved search result. That means it is updated in the background every so often, to make sure it is still up to date. If you could share this online, then there would be a constant risk of a mismatch between the online album and your local version, meaning there would have to be a constantly active sync process to solve this.

That's a shame as that would be exactly the use I want, a dynamic album which pulls in latest photos based on metadata.
