P: Sharing photos with EXIF on shared album

Hello,

I've shared album from Lightroom to shared photos with friends and family. I've activated the ability to download JPEG from photos, but when downloaded the EXIF I've put doesn't show even when I set show metadata.

Is it possible to shared with EXIF and other metadata with lightroom ? Would love to keep the date and localization even if it came from raw-files and downloaded in JPEG.

Thanks a lot

Sorry, ETAs for unrelease features are not available. New features are announced on release date only.

Hello @Jim Wilde, you're right.

Image with GPS embeded in the photos (In JPG format) before importing them to Lightroom look to work.

But I try with a RAW Image from my Olympus Camera with two type of photos :

- One with GPS data already embedded (in the raw format)

- One with editted-GPS added after in Lightroom (Classic, sync in Cloud to share it with Lightroom Cloud)

From both shared images I get a JPG without any GPS data. And worst it's doesn't included any EXIF data like the date when the photo were taken.  I don't think this is normal beahaviour or how it should be.

Because I share thoses photos with trusted people, I think it could be great to offer an more way of customizing the sharing feature.

Whenever I've tested (yesterday was the last test) I find that provided the options in the Share & Invite>Settings panel are correctly enabled, then all standard EXIF data (including the capture date) is correctly included in the resulting jpeg files when the album is downloaded.

However, any data added by the user in Lightroom is NOT included apart from the Caption filed (as that is needed for the online viewing experience). So any Title, Keyword or Copyright data added by the user (and visible in LrWeb via the share link) would not be included in the downloaded jpegs.

Regarding location data, GPS coordinates that have been embedded in the original image on capture (such as smartphone captures) WILL be included in the downloaded jpegs, but not any manually added or edited location entries.

Hello @Charlie.D, I understand that is not yet possible.

By localization I mean GPS Data (sorry, word choose poorly) from where the photo is taken. I would also love to have included the date the photos were taken.

My main use-case is to share with family which use app like Apple/Google Photos with a chronological feed. If the date the photo is taken is not included that mean the shared photos will be saved the day the photo is downloaded.

Of course, I could be great to have other element like Title, captions and keywords you mentionned.

Hello @Farnots

I moved your enhancement request from general Discussion over to the Ideas group.  When you mentioned "Would love to keep the date and localization," which localized text do you mean?  Titles, captions, keywords, etc?
