I'd really, really like to be able to do keywording on my iPad in the LR mobile app. Could save me a lot of Google-time back at the desktop trying to figure just where I was standing for that shot, and what's the name of that building, mountain, river, village etc, etc

LR Mobile without iptc editing is useless as a pro tool. Clients want the photos “now” with all the info included, meaning I have to carry a laptop around

Keyword sync between mobile and classic is critical...
I can see where that would be difficult to implement; at least provide matching export/import functions so that we can manually perform a sync in either direction.

For those many of us who have a large hierarchical keyword set, the best would be to have mobile implement the hierarchical keyword option, to match classic.  Failing that, at least allow export of classic hierarchical keywords and them import them with flattening into Mobile.  Going the other direction, export a flat list from mobile, and then have the flat keywords match their likely counterparts in the hierarchy upon import into Classic.

Okay Rick. I understand your point of view, but I still do not agree. One thing is keyword optimization - which already works great on LR mobile - another thing is the professional use of the IPTC.
Under the metadata and keyword title my topic will disappear in the discussion.

But, thanks for the feedback. I recently found an APP that does the IPTC the way I need it but I would rather not have to use two or three APP to work my photos. optimizing the LR would be perfect, too bad it does not work.

Please allow to use third-party keyboard apps (e.g. TextExpander) to fill out metadata fields.

Hi Henry,

Your post falls under the request for editing metadata which is why I put it here. On it's own it would get no attention. Merging it with this thread helps you get more attention for your idea.

To the developers, it is all part of metadata as a whole so your request fits here perfectly.

I do not agree with merge my topic into that topic. This is a discussion about keywords and my questioning is deeper and more professional.
Now my questioning will stay here, being just a bunch of words within a topic that has absolutely nothing to do with my considerations. Thanks, moderator

One tool that would be perfect for photojournalists is the addition of the full IPTC in LR mobile. If you could fill in information fields such as: location, date, title, credit, and caption I would not need to carry my notebook all over again. I know I have some information that I can fill out, but they are not all of them. Think about it .. It would be perfect and solve an issue of field photo editing. Bring more agility to journalism.

Thanks for the input, Rob. I've merged your post with a previous thread on this subject so your vote will be added to the rest.

This is the only feature that is preventing me from moving to a mobile first image processing workflow. I want to store description with each photo using the Exif metadata fields.

When im in lingo .. i wanna pull out my phone or pad and work on key wording and such ... and when i get home i want it to be synced with the desktop.. when it comes to Lightroom file management.. if keywords and meta don’t sync.. well then why subscribe.
