Are they ever going to make it possible to tether to an iPad? I connected my z6ii to my iPad Pro last night the images come up really fast on the import screen you need to zoom to full size individually. This seems like the ability to tether to an iPad in Lightroom mobile would be a pretty simple software update fir Adobe. And a really awesome feature for us

Dozens of AI updates that are useless for actual fashion ir advertising photographers, and yet this is completely ignored.

Truly a company aiming to

pleasr investors over users.

Buenas tardes!

Gracias!

Please add USB tethered shooting to the iPhone and iPad apps.

Objectives:

- I need to have as much of my studio workflow in the field with me, while keeping my bag light. I'm much more excited and productive in the field, and can share photos with clients on the spot via AirDrop, and don't need to collect contact info to deliver months later. I travel for months on end without getting back to my studio, and the money made along the way lets me be away from my studio longer.

- I need realtime cloud backups of my photos, in case my camera bag and phone are stolen or lost in a lake again. I use eSIMs to have cellular data wherever I can.

Current Method:
- I'm shooting with Canon R6m2 bodies, and an iPhone 15 Pro, both with high speed USB-C, which I attach to my camera with a hotshoe phone holder and a short USB-C cable.

- I shoot in cRAW only, written to both SD cards, lest I have yet another SD card fail.

- I use Cascable on my phone, connected to the camera, to automatically copy photos from the SD cards to the Cascable app's storage. This helps me check focus, composition, etc. on a much nicer screen than the camera's, so I can really see and feel if I got the shot I need and can move on to the next shot without taking a bunch of duplicates just in case, or I can take it again till I get it right and not leave without getting the shot.

- I then need to share the photos from Cascable to Lightroom Mobile, wait for the import, then go back and delete the photos from Cascable app storage to prevent it from filling up my phone.

- I make a quick edit, or apply a preset, then share the photos with the client via AirDrop (works great without cellular data).

- I wait for the photos to sync to Lightroom Cloud, then I can use my iPad or laptop back at the hotel / hostel to make any further edits and redeliver if needed.

- This results in 4+ copies of each photo (2 SD cards, Cascable, Lightroom Mobile+Cloud), including duplicate storage on my phone which I have to manually clean up.

How my process will be improved with this feature:

- I'll only need to work with one app to shoot, select, edit, share, and backup to the cloud

- The client and I don't have to wait for photos to import from Cascable to Lightroom Mobile

- Any ratings / selects that the client and I add to the photos will be carried through to the Cloud, including using the rating button on the back of the camera, flipping through the photos on my phone or iPad with the client (they can select / reject photos on the spot, then I can refine selects later)

- The photos will backup to the Cloud while shooting, instead of after the import, in case we get mugged during / immediately after the shoot again.

- I won't have to putter around with Cascable's connection stability issues

- I won't have to go back to Cascable to clean out the copy of photos stored there

When will Adobe offer tether capture to an IPad? With my portrait work, usually on location/not in studio, I would like to shoot tethered, recording images to sd card and a designated folder in light room, allowing client to easily view during shoot. Then have the ability to open images via LrClassic for further editing and uploading to third party gallery to deliver. I use a canon R6 and have the USBc tether cable to connect camera to iPad pro. I enjoy LrC tether capture to my MacBook Pro when in studio, however using a laptop when in the field/not in studio is cumbersome/restrictive.

Can we please get one of the following on Lightroom for Mobile (iPad):

1) Tethering support.

OR

2) Allow us to choose a folder on our iPad to auto-import from. Currently, the auto-import will only pull photos from the Photos app which is inaccessible via the file system (Files).

For example, an app like Cascable can be used for tethered capture. Cascable does not allow photos to be stored in the Photos app. It has to be a folder that is accessible via Files.

So, if Lightroom mobile would allows us to PICK a local folder of our choice, from which it does its auto-import, this would allow us to have similar functionality offered by the desktop version.

Thank you.

I will like to use lightroom mobile if it supports direct tethering in an album or so... I connect a camera and it can download from connected camera if you do it manually but I need direct tethering after setting up an album for a tether shooting. in lightroom mobile.

I guess this is not a difficult update for adobe.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
