P: Using lightroom Cloud with Dropbox

I would like to use Dropbox instead of Creative Cloud to store, access, and edit my photos in the cloud. I'd rather not be using 8 million different cloud services for my cloud documents, and Dropbox frankly is miles ahead of Adobe in terms of pricing, features, and value. It seems like there was a Dropbox/Adobe Integration a while ago, but that link no longer works on Adobe Exchange. Is this something that's ever going to happen?

If you just want to use Lightroom Classic I guess you could store your catalog and images on Dropbox, but really modern Lightroom is not designed to operate this way.

Dropbox creates a local folder on your hard drive. Just make sure Dropbox has not set the images to 'online only', then there is a copy of them in that local folder and so you can import these images like you import any other images.

But how do you import your photos to Lr if they are in Dropbox?

No, it's not. The Adobe cloud is more than just online storage. There is also Sensei artificial intelligence, for example. When you upload photos, Sensei analyses them and auto tags them. That is how you can search on keywords in Lightroom, without having ever manually entered any keywords. Using Dropbox for storage would not make that possible.
