Photography is about telling a story; Lightroom is focused on managing photos.
Photography is about telling a story; Lightroom only manages photos.
After a trip, I might reduce 1,000 photos to 20 highlights in an album. The problem with this is that many of the discarded images contribute important context and narrative. Too many ‘secondary photos’ and an album grows size and becomes too big.
A "Story Album" feature, where a single photo, one of the 20 picks, can link to 5-6 supporting images would allow photographers to tell the story behind a moment. It could do this without overwhelming viewers with hundreds of photos.
Instead of a flat album of 20 photos or an album of 120 photos, people could explore 20 great photos, each with its own story in the 5 or 6 supporting photos.
Adobe Portfolio already provides a story-driven presentation, but that’s moving to a different platform. I'd love to see a lightweight version of this concept integrated directly into Lightroom Cloud.
Over time, this would help transform Lightroom from a photo management tool into a richer repository of experiences, memories and life events.
