Please Un-Truncate the Align Toolbar options

Hi everybody,

Image attached...Adobe, please un-truncate the align toolbar options. There's absolutely no reason to do this. I have to target a 1000 things in a day this would save me at least ten. Do it, I know you can, it's got to be easy. Again there's no reason for an extra drop-down. I look forward to this update.

Thank you.

Awesome, I typically don't really think to use plugins for Photoshop for some reason, only in After Effects. Maybe I should explore more of these options. Even After Effects has an align panel these days. I'll look into these. Maybe I can find an align panel. That would definitely suffice. I just want to cut down my targeting redundancy, makes the day go easier. Thank you!

I haven’t tested them but it seems some alignment plugins are available.

Okay, perhaps 20 years is an over-statement. It's just in the past 4 years production design has more and more been about less design more production in my line of work. Regardless, it's an illogical use of foldering functionality. If you expand your screengrab you'll notice the entire toolbar is empty.

»I just want the align toolbar to be like it has been the past twenty years, just laid out - simple.«

Why are you calling it »Align Toolbar«? Are you not talking about the Options Bar?

Which exact Photoshop version are you referring to?

The oldest version I can run here is Photoshop 2020 and the alignment-part looks pretty similar to Photoshop 2024:

I just want the align toolbar to be like it has been the past twenty years, just laid out - simple. It's common sense. If I had to click a button to access the other half of the pathfinder options (in a toolbar or panel) in Illustrator, people would be livid and rightfully so.

It's just illogical and superfluous to have to access the align toolbar in two segment to distribute things evenly. It's another tiny button to have to target to release the other half of the align options that were already laid out and easy to access before-hand and have been since I can remember.

I hope that translates, there really should be no discussion for this align toolbar restriction. I can appreciate the focus on making things compact. I work on my laptop a good deal of the time. But the align toolbar isn't crowded at all.

It's a small thing and I don't expect it to get any attention, but something I felt needed sheddeding light on. I hope developers don't start doing this to other tools as a way to stay busy. They should've just left the align/distribute toolbar alone, now it's a step harder to use.

Petty gripe to some, but a valid one to those who'd have to distribute production design elements numerous times for large ad builds.

@Max DT

Both Illustrator and InDesign have a panel for alignment and distribution. Is that what you are thinking?

Do you mean you want the Distribute options and the »Align to«-dropdown in the Options Bar?

Requests with low support may not get much attention (not that a lot of support would guarantee implementation) so maybe you should address the issue yourself and create a custom Panel or hire someone to create it.
