Live Link Functionality Between Substance 3D Painter and Stager

I’d like to request a Live Link feature between Substance 3D Painter and Substance 3D Stager—similar in spirit to Adobe’s Dynamic Link in Premiere Pro / After Effects.

The idea is simple but powerful:
We should be able to send a model directly from Painter to Stager with all material layers, masks, displacements, emissives, and metadata intact, and establish a live connection between the two.

Once the link is established, any updates made in Painter (textures, UVs, layer adjustments, etc.) should instantly reflect inside Stager without needing to manually re-export or re-import anything.

This would dramatically improve the workflow for designers and artists who frequently jump between painting and scene setup. It would also make Stager a much more dynamic tool in production pipelines.

Use cases where this would shine:

  • Iterating materials and seeing lighting feedback in real-time

  • Making quick texture edits during client presentations without breaking the scene

  • Avoiding repetitive export steps every time a small change is needed

Please consider prioritizing this. A Live Link would be a huge leap forward for the Substance ecosystem.

Thanks for your time and amazing tools!

Best regards,
