Why isnt adobe updating/adding new features in Audition?

Is there any particular reason why Adobe is not updating Audition with new features?
Been working in Audition on and off for 9 years now, and its overall a lovely piece of software, even for bigger and more advanced projects. But I've not seen any noticable feature updates during all of these years. I do however feel like it has gotten abit more stable nowadays and does not crash very often.

I do not have very much hope that these features will be added, but here are a few things that i'd love for them to fix/add, and i think most of them are easily fixed.
Santa, here is my top 10 wishlist:

1. Multiple videos in a single timeline.

2. Change track color on multiple tracks at a time. (or in "Add tracks" be able to choose color for all tracks being added)

3. Assign BUS to multiple tracks at a time (or in "Add tracks" be able to choose BUS for all tracks being added)

4. Ability to enlarge the channel rack/eq/send tabs in Mixer view to be able to see more than 3 effects at a time. I'd be happy trading abit of fader realestate for being able to see more effects than the first 3 or even a clearer view of the eq's.

5. Change the way Track/Clip Automations work. I would love to mark a portion of my track or clip automation and move it around in time. Even be able to copy and paste the automation values them selves to paste it into a different track. Even just to deleta clip automations is very time consuming if you have alot of clips from the editor and the volume automations has been included.
Sometimes i do have quite advanced automations on there, and if i need to move the clip, the whole automation needs to be manually moved value by value. I know there are a few work arounds by touch animations, and copy selected tracks. But this seems like an easy fix.

6. The ability to select multiple tracks in the timeline to toggle SOLO/MUTE in one click.

7. AAF compatability, or a way within Audition to convert into OMF.

8. Updating the channel eq mouse/keyboard controls to more easily change the Q (slipe/curve/width), like holding in ctrl or similar. Its abit awkward going down to that right/left slider.

9. Changing track type from mono -> stereo after the track has been created. Rarely needed, but ability to change existing project to 5.1 would be great aswell.

10. Ability to scan music for its BPM and then timestretch it the value of BPM.

10+1. Fix the bug where you want to use the scrollwheel to decrease the width of the timeline track, when you accidentally hold your mouse inbetween 2 tracks, scroll down, and it scrolls all the way up to the top.

Now, i know Audition is there to provide video editors with a basic audio editor, and Audition is not meant to be used as pro audio software. Perhaps I'm the only one using ProTools, Audition and Fairlight. I use whatever is best for the project ahead, and i tend to gravitate towards Audition whenever I get to decide. I really think its the quickest way for me to get to work, and i would love to see it evolve.

What you guys think?

It’s a great question - it feels as though Adobe has mothballed Audition and is basically keeping it on life support.

In the meantime I’ve been getting used to Reaper for any big mixing jobs that come my way. It’s got all the features that I’ve wanted from Audition for a long time, plus more that I hadn’t even thought of. Audition is great for dialogue editing but I wouldn’t use it for more than that in its current state.

I’m a cynical, long-standing Audition user - I first used the software when it originally came out in the early 90s and was known as Cool Edit - that’s before it became Cool Edit Pro and finally Audition -  and I’ve used it on a daily basis since then in professional work; OK, I don’t use it when I go on holiday, but hey, you get the idea. I say cynical because it really does appear that Adobe do not care at all about Audition or it’s many users. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great piece of software that I’ll continue to use for as long as I can, but it could really use a bit of love from Adobe, who seem to have neglected it for the longest time now. If they can’t manage a bit of love then I’d settle for a little bit of interest perhaps, but the reality is that I don’t believe they will ever spend any of their meagre resources on the program.

It’s a bit like that crop tool bug that’s been in Photoshop for about a hundred years now, you know, the one where you engage the crop tool whilst your image is nearly filling the display area, you grab one of the top corner handles and start to move it inwards and suddenly handles move the opposite way and your crop ends up being about twice as large as the photo. A hundred years it's been since I first got annoyed by that and they still haven’t been able to fix it in all that time - surely AI can come to the rescue at some point in the near future? I suppose it doesn’t matter though, because I still absolutely love Photoshop as well and I wouldn’t be without it.

I’ll stop now - I have dialogue to edit...

Two things: What happens is that they gather up all the ideas, and put them in a list that they put to the larger subscribers  (1,000,000+ seats, but not the users themseves, typically). They ask them how much they would value each one. And by and large, because it's Audition and most of the purchasers don't even know what it's for, they say no, we want you to spend the money on - well, most of the video options that they are purchasing. The second thing (and this is quite important) is that effectively, there's only one audio team for the whole of Adobe, so they get spread pretty thinly.

So, to sum it up, the purpose of  'Ideas' isn't quite what you might think...
