Standardize on Lightroom naming and stick to it.
I just migrated a 60,000 image catalog from Lightroom Classic to Lightroom. Went well, better than expected. What I did not anticipate is the difficulty, if not sheer impossibility, of finding help for Lightroom.
At the most basic level, the search bar on the “Lightroom ecosystem (Cloud-based)” displays responses for Classic.
Next, be it the web or Adobe’s own site, “Lightroom Classic” is AKA “Lightroom”, “Classic”, “Lightroom Classic” or “Lightroom CC”. I’m sure there are many I’ve missed.
How about forcing searches to use “Lightroom Classic” or “Lightroom” or, no response is provided. Those using Classic will quickly learn they’re in the wrong place when they specify “Lightroom” and those using “Lightroom” will now be able to access the wealth of information that’s hidden from then in oceans of Classic threads.
