Environment Adobe Lightroom Classic 15.3 Lightroom SDK Windows 11 Standalone Lua script attached SummaryTransparent PNG images displayed in an overlapping layout do not reveal the underlying image on Windows.Instead, transparent pixels are rendered using the Lightroom dialog background color, resulting in visible rectangular artifacts around the overlay image. The same code behaves correctly on macOS. Steps to Reproduce Create an overlapping view (place = "overlapping"). Add a background image (blue PNG). Add a second image consisting of a 45×45 RGBA PNG containing a single red pixel and otherwise fully transparent pixels. Position the overlay image using a child container (f:row with margins). Display the dialog. A complete standalone reproducer is attached. Expected ResultOnly the red pixel should be visible. The transparent pixels of the overlay image should reveal the underlying blue image. Actual Result on WindowsA visible 45×45 rectangle appears around the red pixel.T
Lightroom Classic Version: 15.4.1OS: macOS 26.4.1 (25E253) Description of Issue: Lightroom Classic sync gets stuck on a single photo. The app does not hang or show an error - it continues running at 180%+ CPU indefinitely, draining laptop battery, until force-quit. Step-by-step Reproduction Instructions:1. Have a photo in the sync queue that triggers a malformed internal lookup (exact trigger unconfirmed - possibly a corrupted preview or malformed XMP metadata)2. Sync begins processing uploads/downloads3. Console log shows: Exception Caught. Name: NSRangeException, Reason: *** -[__NSArrayM objectAtIndex:]: index 18446744073709551615 beyond bounds [0 .. 2]4. That index is NSNotFound (-1) cast to an unsigned 64-bit int, being passed into objectAtIndex: on a 3-element array5. App does not crash or recover - it loops on the same faulty state, spinning CPU Expected Result: Sync should fail gracefully with an identifiable error naming the problem file, or skip the file and continue. A while back I wanted to make more space on an external HD and foolishly deleted 5 years worth of travel photos, thinking that I had copies elsewhere. Apparently not 🤔.Since then I’ve relied on previews of those deleted originals, sometimes upscaling them to produce full-screen sized digital memories.I’ve been reluctant to delete old catalogs, thinking that the current catalog references them when displaying previews of the deleted original photos. Those old catalogs now occupy Squillagigs of drive space. Can I safely delete them and still be able to access all previews?
Hello,I’d like to know if it is possible to export in webp format from LrC ? I don’t see this possibility. Is it possible with Photoshop ? Except with save as where I can’t choose size of file. Thanks in advance.
When I open my pictures in LRc they seem to be OK in the first second but then the views of a number of ‘damaged’ files changes to a corrupted view. Because the view of these files is not ‘corrupted’ in other browsers (Windows, Canon DPP etc.) and only in Adobe views I prsume this is caused by a kind of Bug in the adobe software. Also the fact that it only happens to a number of files that seem to be damaged during the backup some time ago excludes that the reason is my PC/hardware.Making a copy or exporting from windows view or DPP (to jpg or else) does not result in Adobe readible files either. Then repair software (Stellar or else) shows to be unable to recognise the problem.See below an example of:The view in windows The view in LRc in the first second(s) The view in LRc after that The overview in LRc showing it happens to specific files onlyAny idea how to ‘repair’ the files in a way Adobe keeps the undamaged view? Thanks,Louis
I would like to add some text to my photos after I edit them in lightroom CC. Like, I do bird photography and I want to add the bird name in a corner of the photos. How can this be done? I have attached an example. The only way I have figured out is to add such text as a watermark, but that is not my intent.
I want to sync an new Lightroom Classic catalog to cloud. I understand from what I’ve seen that anything synced in the cloud on the old catalog will sync to the new one. Do the collections show in the new catalog as they are named in the cloud or are they named something else? I have seen screen shot which shows date taken folders.
Hay Everyone... Has anyone experienced when applying Lens Blur in Adobe Lightroom 13.3 (Windows) cannot execute it?, display "Somethink When Wrong" as per attached screenshot. Please advice how to resolve it. Thank you
Sometimes, when I’m making a new mask (object selection or brush), the selection will go to the far right in a straight line. I am using an iMac M3 26.5.2 and Lightroom Classic 15.41 at the moment, but this problem has persisted through many LR and OS updates. You can see it in the attached screenshot. I was trying to dodge certain areas on the bronze plaque, and the selection went feral! I have contacted Adobe Help, but they didn’t solve the problem.
Hi everyone,I’ve been experiencing an ongoing issue with Adobe Lightroom Classic, currently on version 15.2. This problem has been happening for the last three updates, not just this latest one. After importing RAW files, the thumbnails do not appear in the Library module. The folder and total file count display correctly, but the preview area remains blank. The only workaround that consistently works is fully restarting Lightroom. Once I relaunch the program, all thumbnails appear normally.System details: Lightroom Classic version: 15.2 Computer: Apple M3 Pro Memory: 18GB RAM GPU acceleration: Set to Auto File type: RAW “Generate previews in parallel”: Enabled Storage: [internal SSD or external drive] This happens every time after import. Restarting fixes it temporarily, but having to do that after every import is not practical.Has anyone else experienced this over the last few updates? Is this a known issue with Apple Silicon machines? Is there a more permanent solution besid
I was editing wedding photos without issue, when suddenly I get this black overlay show up when I did a mask instead of red. I thought maybe I pressed something that caused the default red to change so I went ahead and did my edits, but then the photo remained with a black muted color on top of it. I tried choosing a different color overlay color, but with the same result. HELP PLEASE!! I need to deliver these photos to my client. Thank you!

When importing photos, Lightroom Classic sees to card, but only pictures on one of them. Then copy the pictures ad try to sync the catalog. Same problem. LR read raw cr3 from canon R5, but not dng files from DJI Mavic2 pro! What to do?
:I can't open Lightroom CC on my MacBook Pro M1 Max 64gb ram 4tb hard drive
When importing images (I shoot Nikon D800 and D850 with Nikon lenses), lightroom will not identify the lens correctly. The import shows up as a generic lens:import will be 24.0-120.0 mm f/40 Correct is:Nikon AF-S Nikkor 24-120mm f/4G ED VRThere are a small amount of images that have the correct information in the catalog. If I look at the EXIF data from a sample of two files, one that is correct and one with the generic name, both have the correct information. HOWEVER, comparing the xmp files is not. The DSC_9863.xmp file is the one that works and the DSC_9729.xmp is the one that is the generic name. This has been a pain in my backside for a LONG time and I hope someone has some suggestions.
When importing Leica M11 DNG files using Adobe Default (as shown in the Preferences / Presets -- Global setting) Adobe Standard is applied as the Profile instead of Adobe Color. When I create and specify a Preset which specifically uses Adobe Color as the Profile, Adobe Standard is still applied. If I specify to use Camera Setting, then the embedded M11 profile is correctly applied. As a work-around, I can indeed force the Adobe Color profile to be applied if I specify it as the Apply During Import - Development Setting (right-hand panel when importing) and select under the Defaults presets - Adobe Color + Lens or similar. I tried a trial subscription in the hopes this would speed my workflow. Currently I edit real estate photos, then export, then edit in Nano Banana to replace skies or create twilight images. Then I download, rename and export the finished file.I was happy to see that I can now transfer the file to Firefly, and assumed I could return the edited file to LR Classic, as in PS. But, no I still have to download, rename and export. So, the time saving is negligible and the true cost is unknown because of the annoying credit system.WILL WE BE ABLE TO directly return edits to Lightroom?
Hey there, currently I'm trying to improve my understanding of the RAW development pipeline in lightroom and Camera raw. I am interested in the order of adjustments that are made to an image if I adjust the sliders. Not in the recommended order that people suggest for their workflow to be efficient, but in the order they are implemented in lightroom by adobes software engineers. In Adobes dng format documentation for developers I found that white balance is applied first to an image before it comes to exposure, contrast and so on. For all other adjustments the order is not given. Contrast can be adjusted using the contrast slider and also using the luminosity tab in the tone curve. Since these adjustments are not linear it makes a difference in which order they are applied. I can emulate this process in photoshop if I apply two adjustment layers to a photo, 'Brightness/Contrast' and 'Curves'. If I switch their position the outcome will differ in general. So also in light
When an image is leveled, the crop tool's boundaries are restricted to the rotated canvas to avoid empty corners. However, if I try to expand the crop rectangle toward an area where there is still room, it gets blocked by the opposite edge that has hit the canvas limit. It would be a great improvement if the crop rectangle could automatically shift or slide along the boundary so it can be expanded into the available space, utilizing all available pixels without needing to manually reposition the corner or center handles.
hola, el LR en el dia de hoy no funciona? no puedo editar ninguna foto. cuando se solucionara el problema? la actualizacion se hizo hace 16 dias
I got the 20GB subscription. Since a long time I get warnings about it being full. I have tried everything suggested on your site. Including looking for files on the computer. Have only two photos when I check. My son previously used the other seat when I had the subscription that included Illustration. Could it be that big files are left from that? Kindly Mikael Wester
Hello Dears, I have a problem with synch. Last night I tried to synch with 493 photos. Most of development setting was Ok but some of ones missing and/or not correct. For example; linear mask starting point, color adjustment and crop position are different some photos.I tried remove all 492 photos in lightroom and called again. I kept original one which is modified than I tried synch but no change. Issue still there. Is there anybody to face same situation and know solution. I’m using creative cloud desktop version. Thanks in advance for your help.
Summary: Lightroom Classic throws a generic "unknown error" when importing HEVC video files tagged as hvc1, which is the default output format for DJI cameras (tested with DJI Osmo Action 6). The same file remuxed to use the hev1 codec tag imports without issues. No re-encoding is performed — the video bitstream is identical.Steps to reproduce:Record video on a DJI Osmo Action 6 (or likely any DJI camera outputting HEVC). Or use attached input file.
