hi,can anybody explain me, what is SharedObject.getRemote() and its usage?if it work just like a SharedObject.getLocal() , saved data will be in the path called 'C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects\'if i using 'SharedObject.getRemote() ' means, where the data will stored? can any one explain or tell me the stored path.Thanks in advanceayathas

Hi,We are testing IP Multicast, with Flahs media player 4.0.We set up the encoder and generated the manifest file.Multicast start, but we see lot of bufferring and video running fast.After about 2 minutes, the encode stops publishing to the server. We are using digital rapids as the encoder.Any idea this might be causing ?

HiI'm doing af video streaming solution for a larger compagny, but I need some help on whitch bitrates I should aim for, when i encode my videos.My scenario is as follows:FMS version: Flash Media Server 4.0Player: JW Player 5.4 (licenced)Player widths: 416px and 640px (both 16:9 and with the choice to go fullscreen)Minimum bitrate support: 250kbsI need to find out how to layout my bitrates and widths in a way that will:make the switching between to levels (video qualities) as smooth as possible.support a wide range of bw (bandwidth). Hi all Is there anyone who has a HTML example (or can give an URL with a page) that has the Adobe Flash player displaying a live stream (and not a file)? There is one in the installation under "Flash Media Server Start Screen" but it was too complex for me to understand. i  posted earlier  :HelloIn my application i have video player  that uses VideoDisplay class of flex sdk 4.5. we implenent swf  verifaction. i tried to play videos on  rtmpe several times , and it  did'nt play , seemed like   my swf did'tn pass swf verification, during  all day i tried to figure out what's wrong, then i tried to compile all  flex sdk libraries ( framework_4.5.0.17689.swz, osmf_1.0.0.16316.swz and  ex ) into my main file  , instead of  having them as rsl, finaly i  succeeded to connect to rtmpe and to play the video. Could you help me  please? what should i do? why does'nt it  pass swf vereficiation when  the linkage  of flex sdk libraries is default(rsl- swz files). i can't merged them into code, it Weights to much ,800 kb.after trying some things i came to conclusion that fms can't handle with swz, then it reaches swz refference it fails . so my question now is : is this somethin

Hi allDoes anyone know how to get a script of some kind to grab a picture from a live stream and save it as a JPG file?In this way a cron job can tricker the script and thereby grab a picture fx every 10'th minute and the picture can be shown on a website so people that are not attending can have a look into what is happening in the live stream.Kind regards,Jens

My fmis server is 3.5.4 and I use flvPlayback to play the fms live stream. I want to let the live stream stopping status after be load completed.but after I set the autoPlay=false, the fms live stream is not stopping status after be load completed.However I try the fms vod stream as the autoPlay=false ,is can stop .what's different the live stream and vod stream. why the vod stream can stop but live stram can't stop???

I'm looking to use the Smart Seek options with netStream in an upcoming project. Currently, we are using Flash CS4 and it seems this API is not available. Am I correct on this? Is this only available in CS5 as far as Flash Professional goes? What about Flex? Which version of Flex is required to access the smart seek API? Or am I misunderstanding this, and the Smart Seek API is server side only AS?Thanks,Adam

I have a Flex application that plays live streams.  Works well.Somebody I know can't watch because they have a proxy server.  The nc.connect() call to get the live stream fails because it goes direct from AS3 to FMS and doesn't go through the proxy server.Is there something in AS3 that I can wrap my nc.connect() call in to make it proxy aware?

So, I've freshly installed the FSM demo on a redhat linux box, and have everything working. From that start screen running on Local Host, I click the "Play video (HTTP)" and that video of a train shows up. Cool. But when I click the link above it ("Play Video (RTMP)") I get an error message: "Connection Error. Please press Play to try again."  and no matter how many times I hit play, I get that same message. The Dynamic stream doesn't work either, and the Interactive sucessfully displays webcam feeds, but doesn't show the "Play Live Stream" button thing. Is there anything special you have to do to get the RTMP stuff working? Some special command or server you have to run? Would firewalls intefere with things (I'm pretty sure there isn't one on the machine, but I'm flailing wildly here) or would permissions mess things up? I'm completely lost ^_^;; I guess I should also add that there doesn't seem to be any log files. I'm looking under the server install directory, and there is
