Hi There, I am migrating to Flash Media Interactive Server from Windows Media Server. How can i set Limit aggregate player bandwith to 1.4Gb.And Bandwith per player conection to 150Kbps in FMIS?Another doubt that i have is using FMIS buffer to have 15s of buffering i need to change Apllication.xml with this parameters?<Live> <!-- Drop live audio if audio q exceeds time specified. time in milliseconds --> <MaxAudioLatency>15000</MaxAudioLatency> <!-- Default buffer length in millisecond for live audio and video queue. --> <MinBufferTime>15000</MinBufferTime></Live>Best Regards,Sérgio Hen
Hello,We are trying to implement a live streaming radio solution with FMIS.We are having a problem concerning the Buffering. We are trying to implement a player that has a fast player connection time. For this we configured an initial buffer of 2s, after which the player is connected. After this, the buffer should be able load up to 15s, while streaming is up.We have 4 Publishers from Flash Media Live encoder 3.x with 64Kb each.APPX\INST1\stream1 -> audio 64KbAPPX\INST1\stream2 -> audio 64KbAPPX\INST1\stream3 -> audio 64KbAPPX\INST1\stream4 -> audio 64KbI have changed the Application.xml to this:<Queue enabled="true"> <MaxQueueSize>125830</MaxQueueSize> <MaxQueueDelay>15000</MaxQue
Hi there,For the past while, my developer has been working with me on a small project to put together a live interactive whiteboard app, powered by Flash Media Interactive Server. Well, everything is finished & ready to go, but there seems to be a big problem:The app was developed & tested on a windows machine, while my server and all my website files (to integrate with) is on a Linux system. It's been a month since this problem arrose, and there had not been any further progress with this project for the time. My developer doesn't seem to know much about how the 'conversion process' works, if there is one.Do you know if this is possible (to convert a windows-programmed app to work on a linux system)? If so, do you know roughly how it should be handled? Thanks in advance,Donny
Dears:I want to bought FMS Streaming version, but I don't know the exactly diferent between both. Unlimited Adaptors v/s 1 Adaptors.Give me practice examples, please. For example, I want use FMS for live streaming, whiteboard (Stefan Richter), chat, live conferences, etc.Regards

Hi, i'm developing a web site, and i'm trying to let the user record some video from his webcam. I'm using actionscript and flash media server. I got it work in my delevoper enviroment, but when i deployed it to the production server, the webcam can't get connected to the FMS.I'm afraid this is because of port blocking from the firewall. Does anyone knows wich ports are userd for recording from a browser by the Flash Media Server? I will be really gratefull to anyhelp you can give me. I open the 1935 port in the Flas Media Server, but it still doesn't work. Please help.Thank you.
Hello. If you use FMS 3.5 as a DVR to record the live streams, whether it can determine that the hard disk has 100 megabytes? It is necessary that I live streams redirected to another server.
I have installed AdobeFlash Media Development Server (as a test for Interactive Server 3.5) and the Authentication Add-In v3. It works great with Flash Media Encoder 3 (FMLE/3.0), but if I specify a different user agent (FME/2.5 or FM/1.0) using an older version of the encoder or another brand encoder that supports multiple user agents (eg. Wirecast) the authentication is completely ignored. Is there a way to restrict Adobe Flash Media Interactive Server to accepting uploads from user agent FMLE/3.0 only (or cause it to respect credentials from older user agents . . . if they even send credentials)? Thanks!Dan
Hi all,I'm trying to troubleshoot a Flash Media Server working with a little video playback application I wrote a few years ago that has suddenly stopped working. I'm using CS3/Actionscript 3. My app uses the FLVPlayback Component, and was working well last time I checked. I recevied a report that the videos stopped working, and have been looking into it. I figured I'd add a bunch of event listeners to the FLVPlayback's ncMgr.netConnection so I could get debug info on things like io errors, net status, etc. The problem I'm running into is that the netConnection is null when I set it to anything on my Flash Media Server, and adding any event listeners to this netConnection throws errors. Here's what I've tried so far:Playback of a local FLV file works fine. In the FLVPlayback documentation, I found an example and stole the URL of the stream they were using in the example, and that works fine, although it is an HTTP protocol stream rather than RT
Hello, world...I'm trying to load an external .swf that contains some checkboxes. The extenal .swf has a server-side script in applications folder on FMS3.When I load the external .swf in local, it works fine.If I load the external .swf in remote using an Apache Web Server, the external .swf is loaded but the checkboxes don't appear...Why?Please, help me...Emiliano.
I am connecting FMS over RTMP from a firewalled network where RTMP is blocked.Connecting to my FMS server from there takes (a toooooooooooooooo loooooooooooooooooooong) one minute before the Flash client switches from RTMP to encapsulated RTMP into HTTP.Is there any way to by pass this delay or is it a plug-in inner behavior that cannot be short-cut ?Thanks for help,François
Hi all; i am new on steaming & flash server; when we try to use RTMP over HTTP the outside client gets the internal IP address of the FMS server instead of the NAT one or public IP address, how can we solve this. Thank for the help in advance. Thanks
we are having an issue getting rtmp with the 3.5.3 FMS development version to work, with our test link we just get a white pagewe are able to create a vod in the admin swf, we're able to even see videos showing they should be streaming in the ADMIN console and in the logs it says they should be streaming, but our webpage you get a white page, nothing..logs look like:Accepted a connection from IP:74.132.1.1, referrer: http://www.mydomain.comstreaming/res/js/flowplayer/flowplayer.rtmp-3.1.3.swf, pageurl: http://www.mydomain.com/streaming/test.php -2010-01-13 13:29:46 1181 (s)2641173 Accepted a connection from IP:74.132.1.1, referrer: http://www.mydomain.com/streaming/res/js/flowplayer/flowplayer.rtmp-3.1.3.swf, pageurl: http://www.mydomain.com/streaming/test.php -NOTE: we are NOT using the apache/http part, the port is configured to 8080 but that is not being used all w
Hi all,My employer has a Flash Media Server that I wrote a little streaming video app for a couple years ago. Well, the videos have stopped working and I've been asked to troubleshoot. I fired up the fms_adminConsole.swf and connected to my server. Now, it's been a long time since I've messed with the server, but if I remember right, there was a big list of apps on the list on the left hand side of the "View Applications" view of the console. When I log in, there are no applications listed. If I hit the "New Instance" button under the empty list, I'm presented with a list of all the apps I think I should be seeing in the Applications list. If I select any of these, a new application instance appears in the applications list, and I'm prompted to give it a name, the default being "_definst_". If I hit enter to create this instance, it remains on the list and instance data appears on the right panel until the console refreshes, and then all that v

Good morning,I want to know how to detect the call of a function in the plugin Auth.Is there something like getNotifyAction?The idea is to read the username and password of the connection.Serverscript already did but I need to do it with a SQL database so I use the Plugin.Thank you very much for your helpvar connection: NetConnection = new Conecction ();connection.connect ( "rtmp: / / 127.0.0.1", "username", "password");
Hi all,Here is what I have done.I downloaded and installed FMS 3.5 (latest) on a virtual machine running in vmware on my iMac. The virutal machine runs Ubuntu 8.04 and has IP-number 192.168.219.130. Installed and completed I moved the "Legend.flv" file found on the "Beginners guide to streaming..." to my newly installed FMS /opt/adobe/fms/applications/vod/mediaI tested the fms by connecting with my iMac using the admin interface (copied from /opt/adobe/fms/tools/...) and logged in using the following credentials:Server Name: Server 1Server Address: 192.168.219.130Username: *********Password: **********The admin interface connected and all seemd to be just fine.I fired up my SWF made in CS4 (attached file). Basically it is an empty stage with a FLVPlayback component dragged on to the stage. the component has 3 changes made:skin: SkinUnderAllNoFullNoCaption.swfskinBackground: #009933source: rmtp://192.168.219.130/vod/Legend At this stage I only get the green bar with the loading stripes
I'm testing out Adobe Flash Media Server and Wowza Flash Server and am trying to accomplish the following... Web server and Flash server are on different computers... Flash server is configured to stream vod files (.flv) from a remote file share (UNC path) on a separate Windows domain server.I was able to get both servers configured and working. The final piece is to move both Flash servers to the DMZ segment of our firewall and test from outside our network. On the DMZ, the Wowza Server is able to connect to the remote file share and stream video as it's apparently leveraging the credentials I entered when I mapped a network drive to the file share and supplied valid domain credentials. The Adobe Flash Server is not able to connect to the remote file share and stream video because it seems that the connection method that the Adobe Flash Server uses is reliant upon the Adobe Flash Server Windows service account being a domain account... and when the server is on the D
Any reasons why I should not use Red5 over Flash Media Server?
Hi, I have installed FMS 3.5 on three different machines with the same less-than-optimum result. Two of the servers were virtual on VMware ESX3 and the third is on dedicated hardware: Quad 2.33GHz CPU, 8GB RAM, Gigabit interface, Win 2003 Ent SP2 and all latest patches through 1/6/10. The primary problem is when I connect three PCs to the default web page and start the Getty demo video, the delivery of the video is jerky. There are pauses - orange rotating circle - and the motion looks almost like stop-action animation. Being new to this technology, I installed the FMS with defaults. But, I obviously need some help with optimization. Can someone here direct me to what I need to study/read to understand how to make this machine work like it's supposed to?All input is sincerely appreciated.- a -
I am a web designer with some Flash design and minor Flash development experience. I have picked up a client that would like live webcam video and text chat as part of their website and I am wondering what Adobe software solution is necessary to meet my clients needs. I would like to know what program is used to develop the video and chat interface and if I need streaming media server to host the content. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Also, I hate to gripe, I find it extremely disheartening that Adobe lists on its own website on the social media tools page that part of the flash platform would be useful for exactly what I need but then fail to give any additional detail and then when I call the sales/customer service number the reps. say they can't answer that question. Why claim your software is good for something and then not be able to answer questions about what pieces you need. To me then the reps. are not salespeople but orde
Hi everybody,I use FMS on CentOS-5 with Apache proxied on port 8134.It works quite well except for one thing : when I start FMS et httpd services everything is fine but after some time, let's say a day, the access to FMS with HTTP on port 80 doesn't answer anymore . The connection stays pending with no answer on the client broswer. At the same time both RTMP:80 and HTTP:8134 work fine. It's quite disturbing and it blocks us for the moment for opening our services since we want it avaible on HTTP:80.Seems like FMS HTTP proxy stops working after a few hours. Does anybody knows why ?Regards,François - Paris, FR
ISSUE #1 WITH FMS 3.5.3----------------------------------------I just upgraded one of our servers running FMS 3.0 to FMS 3.5.3 but it causes a sudden spike in server load causing the server to crash. I managed to see an error after I tried to stop FMS during one of its server load spikes:NPTL 2.3.4Stopping Adobe Flash Media Server (please check /var/log/messages)*** glibc detected *** double free or corruption (fasttop): 0xf3a21ef0 ***FMS 3.0 worked fine on this server with the exception of the admin server crashing once in a while. We have FMS 3.5.2 running on another CentOS server without any issues. We're now hesitant to upgrade other servers to FMS 3.5.3 until we hear back from Adobe on this issue.P.S: This server is live and very active so it's possible that playback of a live or VOD stream is causing these crashes because they started happening after we turned it on for customers. It didn't seem to crash when it was running on its own with some local testing.ISSUE #2 WITH FMS 3.5
It seems after a while the admin server stops responding on our fms server. When logging into the linux machine, I can see that the fms admin process is not running, and the pid in fmsadmin.pid is stale. When trying to restart the service with:"./fmsmgr adminserver restart"it fails to start the service with the following message in /var/log/messages:Failed to create listener for adaptor admin, IP , port 1111: TCCommBridge::createListener 0.0.0.0:1111/v4: bind failed!!!.Failed to create listener for adaptor admin, IP , port 1111: TCCommBridge::createListener 0.0.0.0:1111/v4: bind failed!!!.Failed to initialize listeners for adaptor admin, FMS is already running or other processes are using the same ports.Checking to see what is listening on port 1111 with netstat:tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:11110 0.0.0.0:* &n
Hi, I've got a weird problem with my Flash player. The problem is that if you pause a program in the flash player, leaving it for any longer than about 6 minutes will render the flash player unusable, all controls will become greyed out and you must refresh to begin playback and navigate to your previous position, this is annoying. I tested to see if it was a flash player specific problem by loading in a file without it being connected to the Flash media server, the problem was not present and you could always resume. This suggested it could be a connection or timeout issue with the flash streaming server. I've had a look through the config to see if there was anything that could be changed but couldnt come up with anything.I guess if the flash streaming server is not set to timeout streams I will be exposing myself to very simple denial of service attack.... does anyone have any ideas?
