I'm looking for some direction in correcting this error. I am trying to install FMS 3.5.1 onto a Windows 2003 Server system and I'm getting this error message, "Setup has detected and invalid registry entry and is unable to proceed. This can be corrected by uninstalling the current version using the Windows Control Panel, the restarting the installer."I have probably created this situation as I had originally installed FMS and in my utimate wisdom was going to manually move it from the install directory to a different one. It didn't move completely as one of the files was being used and instead of undoing the move I rebooted then decided to uninstall the application. I got the "Application was uninstalled successfully although some files could not be deleted" dialog. Now, when I try to reinstall the application I get for aforementioned error. Obviously something in my registry but I'm unable to locate what I may need to remove. I also noticed that Fla
I have read some forums posted in here and also searched the web extensively but cannot find a clear answer or get HTTP tunneling to work with Flash Media Server 3.Q1: Can Flash Media Server 3 be configured for RTMP and HTTP tunneling to work? The reason I need to know if this will work is due to more and more clients are reporting that videos are not playing for them and I have determined that these clients are sitting behind a firewall that has port 1935 blocked. So I would like to configure the FLV playback control to try to stream the file over RTMP and if that does not work, use HTTP.Can someone please help! Is there a whitepaper that you can point me to or even provide an example to me.Here is my asctionscript that I have tried to get this to work, but it does not. Some other notes are, the .FLV files live in this folder: D:\Adobe\Flash Media Server 3\applications\vod\mediaThe videos are recorded and then converted into .FLV files and loaded into this folder.I have everything hard

I have FMS 3.5 installed, everything is running. I want to have a livestream from a camera that is dynamic and will change according to the bandwith of the viewer. What settings do I need to choose in Flash Media Encoder, FMS and in the Player to make this possible? If I start the encoder with 3 videostreams and a %i parameter I get 3 different streams, but I can only put one of these in a player and not all. What do I need to do?
hi everybody, Have been stuck with this for quite sometime. Here's what i'm trying to do.I have a video capture device on a machine. I have written a windows application to capture the video from this device. While capturing, if i try to broadcast using flash it does not connect. If i'm already broadcasting and then try to capture then my windows application does not get the capture pin of the device. So, flash seems to be taking the capture pin. Is there anyway to broadcast using the preview pin on the device so that i can capture using my application. Or is there way where i can split the capture pin and give one to my app and one to the broadcaster. Thank you for the help in advance.
Hi All,As it stands currently, I'm developing online teaching applications that faculty can use in their classes, as well as encoding and uploading videos to our Windows Servers. For database management, I'm coding server side scripts in PHP, and dumping everything into MySQL. Then embedding all the content into Moodle (which is hosted by a 3rd party).I'm looking at a Flash Server Solution for a couple of reasons:1) Delivering Streaming video instead of Progressive Download2) Allowing instructors to encode and upload their own videos (similar to YouTube) without having to go through my office3) Providing extra copyright security - in order to use some copyright videos, we have to ensure that only the students who are enrolled in specific classes can access the data. As it stands now, a smart student with the right URL can download anything we have up on our Windows servers. Some Questions and concerns:1) I don't know Cold Fusion. Will I have to rewrite all my scr

I was wondering how fast the connection throw flash server is, for example: could I create a full action real time game with several online players? if this is possible then how fast should I make the flash game itself (FPS)?
Hello,I am looking for a solutions to live broadcast video on the internet, where the live broadcasting is on location and needs to transfer the video made to the server throw a standard (mobile) internet connection. After this the server would need to broadcast it directly to the internet. Now is my question how can i manage something like this whit FMS?And how is the traffic acts? like if i would send 500kbps to each user and have 10.000 users I need a 5gbps connection?I am looking for a solutions whit as many users as possible (250.000) whit a minus of 10.000, so there will be loadbalancers and more than 1 server involved in this. Anyone can give some directions how to manage this? Thanks in advance!

But when I am trying to access it through LAN there is no problem in it.Please help.Thanx.
How do I protect my publishing point with a username and password using flash media streaming server 3.5?
I have fms running on linux with an apache webserver on the same machine and I'm have some issues regarding domain-names.I have done the Walkthrough 2. Simple FLVPlayback 2.5 component which works nicely on my local machine using linux (and also on virtualized Windows). Locally it doesn't matter if I use my IP-adress or my domain-name, it all works fine. However, when I host the swf (on my local machine) and access it from another computer the video does not play. The player doesn't seem to load the flv. However looking at the fms-access-log it looks like a succesfull atempt, it connects, starts playing and transfers some data. I have a crossdomain-file in my apache root. I have tried using both domain names and IP-adresses accessing the swf and the flv. Also copying the swf to the other computer doesn't seem to help.Another issue that might be the same problem(?) is that when I try loading an flv with another player (also hosted on my local machine) I can get it to work from that othe
I seem to recall reading somewhere (but for the life of me I can't find the article I was reading), that with Adobe FMS you could store content on one machine, and then run the actual server on a separate machine. Is this correct? If so, how would you go about doing it?-Jennifer Schultz
iS IT POSSIBLE TO CALL ADMINISTRATION API METHODS SUCH AS GETSERVERSTATS() etc from server side code....
Hey, everyone. I have a problem. I have read some threads how to setup flash media server on IIS and I tried to follow these threads. The problem is I can't connect to flash server. I suspected that I may forget to config something on IIS manager.Could you help me please?
I found some stuff in an old FMS book (great book on FMS but very old) on how to subscribing to the Log streams. The does a netConnect & NetStream and used a nc,onLog to get play back but onLog does not seem to be supported anymore. Anyone know how I can playback logs from FMS 3.x into CS3 client? Thanks
Hi,I have installed FMS and we are evalauating it as a streaming server. If I understand the documentation correctly, all the media files for streaming need to be stored in this directory:/..../applications/vod/mediaHowever, if I want the file to be available (downloadable) over http, it needs to be located under webroot./..../webroot/Now my question is, why can't I just create a symbolic link in .../webroot/media to point at .../applications/vod/media.In general, we'd like to make every file streamable and downloadable. My thinking is, the sym link allow us to not have to upload every file to two places.Am I missing something? Are there security concerns? What is the idea behind having 2 directories? I assume that the FMS can handle streaming and downloading of a file at the same time.Jeph
Hi! What i plan to do is a little vod-service, that should work something like this: (player is the jw flv player) 1) giving the server a session id (rtmp://<mydomain>/<myapp>/<session_id>) 2) then querying an id-server, that confirms my session id and returns a path to a file in my local file-system 3) redirecting the stream to this source 4) bonus would be if i could control the start position in the file and the duration i want to stream it I'd be grateful for any hint, where i should realise each of these parts! So far points 1) & 2) are solved in the access-module in libconnect.dll. I tried to make 3) also in libconnect.dll, but it doesn't seem to work the way i want it to. In fact, it doesn't seem to work at all... And i have no idea where to turn to, to get on 4). Thanks fo any help to come! :) Greetz, Para

I heard that Adobe has launched a new server reffered to as Flash media Encoding Server. In their website they do have explained a lot about it. But they have not mentioned whether it can be used for Live Streaming or not. Does any one know whether it can be used for Live Encoding .. anyone?? How is this server different from Flash Media Server??
