Hey lads, Just playing around with FMS 3.5 at the moment. We are looking at implementing it in our environment and i just have a few questions. I want to restrict access to the VOD content based on the users IP address (i.e, depening on where they are comming from in our internal network). Now i know this is possible, but just not really sure how to go about it server side (using the XML Files). Do i create multiple adaptors with a single virtual host in each, or have just the one adaptor and create multiple virtual hosts? I would like to create 4 different hosts/adaptors as we have four levels of bandwidth in our organisation. So if you are a LAN user with a heap of bandwidth, you will get content from our LAN VOD folder. If you are a user in one of our state offices, which have pipes that connect directly to our network, but have a reduced level of bandwidth, you will get content from our State Office VOD folder ect.I am able to tell if the user is a LAN or State Office user dep
I have placed a video into flash cs3 and made the swf file using the flvplayback, and i have put the swf or published it ...putting it in dreamweaver, I can see the video and hear the sounds when I preview in firefox or iexplore however once I put in my server I cannot see anything or hear anything. Hi, I have installed FMS3 developer on my server DEBIAN. I had to fix some mistakes about some lines "not found" in "fmscore". So I created a file named "adobe_fms.conf" in : /etc/ld.so.conf.d ...and wrote: /opt/adobe/fms And to finish, I run ldconfig... Now, (I hope so) my "fmscore" is ok ! I checked out my file "fms.ini" to make sure everything is ok ! But, in fact, if I go on mysite:1935 nothing works !! Or mysite:1935/fms_adminConsole.htm or whatever ! After :1935 nothing appears ! Only white page ! That's drive me nuts :( Could you help me please !
We have some existing C++ code which communicates with Red5 and Wowza, but fails with FMS 3.0 and 3.5. Strangely enough, the responses from FMS contain spurious 0xC3 bytes. For instance, when we make a connect() request, the _result response from FMS should contain two objects, one with fmsVer and capabilities, the other with level and code. The response starts off well, but the value FMS sends us for the code attribute is "NetConnection.ConÃnect.Succes", with an extra 0xC3 byte inserted (the trailing 's' of "Success" is still there, which throws off all subsequent parsing). I'm guessing that these have to do with chunking of RTMP. Is this behaviour documented somewhere? And how best to cope with these extra bytes? I looked at the pyamf code, and couldn't find anything relating to chunking. Thanks.
Sir, Iam in a project to implement IpTV.I need to stream the live channel to FMS.Is there any hardwares(USB) which acts as a tunercard which can be dectected by FME.
Ihave unistalled previous versions, but repeated attempts to install Adobe 9 have failed. Suggestions?
Hi, I'm trying to figure out where the streams are stored on the server. I'm running through the sample app "publishlive" and it seems be to be working, in that I get two videos (one local, one presumably from streaming from the server) going. On the Admin Console, I see that my stream is there. Yet, there is nothing in the #{Root_install}/applications/publishlive/streams/_definst_ folder. I tried to change ns.publish("liveRecording1", "live") to ns.publish("liveRecording1", "record"), and that ended up throwing an error: NetConnection.Connect.Success Error #2044: Unhandled NetStatusEvent:. level=error, code=NetStream.Record.NoAccess at NatureCam/publishCamera() at NatureCam/onNetStatus() Everywhere I look it says that the streams should just show up under the applications folder, but it doesn't seem like its workign for me. I'm running on a linux platform. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Are there any settings in the conf to help the throughtput? Thanks
greetings all, i've bult a video player that has a dynamic playlist (via xml) i have loaded the FMS3 on my local computer and i'm trying to test a rtmp stream.. i keep getting this Error opening URL 'rtmp://localhost/vod/mp4:480p.mov' the player will play any and all http video files from my local drive or web server. i've tried AS.org fixes -Security.allowDomain("rtmp://localhost/vod/"); - crossdomain.xml <?xml version="1.0"?> <cross-domain-policy> <allow-access-from domain="*" /> </cross-domain-policy> and -Access network only no luck i'm not sure what's going on with the RTMP... any advice or leads in solving this would help. thanks -n8
We want to stream live Town Hall meetings with the majority of the users viewing it from our inTRAnet. 320x240, 30fps, Dual 2.8 GHz, 4 GB widows server. Anybody with similiar setup using FIMS to service 200 or 500 concurrent users? We have two campuses and I need to know if I will need to spec a second server if we get above a certain number. How many concurrent users can I supprot with the above configuration? Thanks
quote: connecting to the video server... >>The client does not have permission to connect to the application, or the application expected different parameters from those that were passed. >>The connection was closed successfully I want to allow anybody can connect to my FMS but if only the php applications are hosted on my server. I user on my php application this: $connection_string="rtmp://83.149.112.7:1935"; but i don't know what is the correct sintaxis. Regards
I have setup two servers and have server to server streams going. When a user publishes a stream a netconnection is opened to the second server and once "NetConnection.Connect.Success" is received the netstream is created and then stream via Stream.get(name) is attached and publish. This works fine, the quality is the same on the second server. The issue is when the netconnection is lost to the second server, and then reconnected. I setup the netstream the same way as when the netconnection first connected, however the quality after reconnecting is not the same. Has anyone experienced anything like this? What would some possible causes of quality loss from server to server be? I am using the admin console to sample the streams.
Folks, I can't (yet) offer publicly available links to this stuff, but I've a general question to insure I'm not missing anything. FMS Development is working fine. The example VOD app works fine, both on the Flash Streaming server and deployed to a web server. However, if I use DW CS3 to try and create an embedded video from a stream on the server (tried both MP4 and FLV extensions) it fails: no error, just no video. Code for progressive downloads work fine when I use the Dreamweaver method, but streams do not. I'm following the instructions from Adobe's site, but it still doesn't work. I can't stream the sample videos or custom videos via code created by Dreamweaver. Am I missing something?
Is possible use a class of ActionScript3.0 in server-side file? Example. I want use the List class of ActionScript.(fl.controls.List) How I will import these class in SSAS?
I stream live audio and video just fine. After about 30 seconds, I have to refresh my browser to hear the audio again. Ideas? Thank you.
I have a Video file that I need to encode to several f4v files at different bit-rates, but it seems I cannot change the bit-rate in Adobe Media Encoder CS4? I used the previous version to encode, but I cannot encode to f4v, only flv. Is there something I am missing here?
Hello I am having problems connecting to Flash Media Streaming Server 3 with port tunneling. I ran the FMS Port Connection Survey on two computers in my office. On one I am able to successfully connect across all ports, on the other I can only connect over port 80. Seeing that, I thought I should configure port tunneling on my FMS server and have done so following this great article. I've tested on the computer that can only accept a connection over port 80 by forcing the connection to port 80 like so: nc.connect ("rtmp://server.com:80/vod/");. This works fine on all computers. Then I read here that if I leave out the port number it will yield 2 connection attempts (one over port 1935 and then over 80). First it attempts to connect over 1935, if unsucessful it will connect over 80. This sounds logical and something I should do but this is also where the problem lies. On the computer that only accepts connections over port 80, it will not connect. It seems that the FMS is not a
Hello all, I'm checking integration for fmes in my organization. and I encountered some riddles. Is there a posibility to preserve the fps/w*h etc. from the original file when encoding? Can I define jobs outside of the administration with scripts? I understand there a possibility for xml job submission, what's the xml template for this? Thanks, Zaki.
Does anyone know will the current MainConcept AAC Encoder (version 1.0.4) work properly with new Flash Media Live Encoder 3.0 or is there an update coming to AAC Encoder?

FMS suddenly crashes. This happens once every week or event more often. Sometimes it happens a few times a day. If I go into the server logs this is the message printed out: Failed to create thread (SSLPollThread Ctor).
I have Flash Media Streaming Server 3 running on a Windows 2003 machine with IIS 6. I can view the Video-on-demand samples locally and remotely just fine using rtmp, but not rtmpt. I have disabled socket pooling using httpcfg, but FMS 3 doesn't seem to be binding to any IP addresses on port 80. Next steps? hbz
Hi, I have an application that records from the webcam to a file on the server. Recently the application instance has stopped responding, however the server and the other apps are up and running fine. I am running 2.0.3 on Windows 2003 Standard Server. Hi, We have installed the development version of Adobe Media Server. But the stream can be captured with this software: http://applian.com/replay-video-capture/index.php#keepvidrvcNFL -> Replay Media Catcher We are using swf verification and the rtmpe protocol and we removed the "*" from the allowed htmldomains and alowedSwfdomains and replaced it with our actual domain. What do we do wrong ? How can we prevent this? Thanks
